Sara was fantastic and so welcoming and helpful during my stay! Fantastic rooms! I really enjoyed my stay! And I'll be back to stay next time I'm back to do the Cinque Terre. Only a short walk to the train station to make the most if my time there. Fantastic!

Sara greeted us and served us beautifully throughout our stay. No request was too small. The breakfast she provided exceeded out expectations--just excellent in terms of quality and quantity. Sara made the positive difference for us. Sara is warm, genuine, and very accommodating. She embodies what customer service should be about. Thank-you Sara fir making our stay such a good one.

This was a great hotel for the price and location. We used it as a stop over to get on the boat to Cinque Terre. The staff here, husband & wife are awesome!!! They were very accommodating and helpful for everything, plus speak very good English. The room was nice, comfortable and clean. They are a little small, but worked perfect for what we needed. We walked here from the train station La Spezia Centrale, which was easy. Great place, necessities in the lobby(water & beer, juice, hot cafe bar, etc.), excellent breakfast, and I can't say enough about the staff. They even provided to store our luggage for the next day while we stayed in the Terre region, and we stopped back thru to pick them up on the train from Cinque Terre thru La Spezia.

Hi Laura! :) Thank you for your positive attitude. Good luck in business! But, one negative aspect- view from the window of dirt and junk in the yard, was not very enjoyable.

The girl working at the reception was extremely nice and helpful in any possible way. Unfortunately she wasn't the owner. The hotel rooms, despite being brand new, were very cheaply furnished and some things broke very easily. The sink developed a hole in it for a simple thing falling inside of it! The door-handle was about to fall out every time I opened or closed the door!

We made Albergo Birillo our base for visiting Cinque Terre. We stated 3 nights there and were impressed by the friendliness of the staff. The room was large and had a comfortable bed. The hotel can be reached from the railways station by bus L, S and 3 or easy walk 15-20 minutes. The central marked is located just 5 minutes from the hotel and is well worth a visit. Breakfast was excellent and included in the rate. I found this hotel an ideal base for visiting Cinque Terre and La Spezia.

On our arrival we were greeted by a young man who was very welcoming and even insisted on carrying both our heavy suitcases upstairs for us. The location is great, near to the waterfront and some great restaurants. The young guy and young lady who looked after the place were extremely helpful and the breakfasts were sensational with home made breads and crepes. They were happy to communicate in English. We'd stay here anytime.

The staff here are super friendly and helpful and really make you feel welcome. I stayed here one night whilst traveling through Italy by myself and was looking for somewhere cheap to use as a base to explore the Cinque Terre area. The hotel is a 10/15 minute walk from the station and situated on a very busy and noisy main street. Consequently, I found it very difficult to get any sleep, as my room faced onto this. The bathroom was incredibly cramped which made moving around in there quite difficult. Good public area with a little bar, sofas and access to computer with free internet connection. Breakfast was good, more substantial than usual Italian fare. There were croissants, cake, bread, fruit, cheese, ham, eggs, cereal and yoghurts. This was the most expensive place I stayed, but was certainly not the best.

We actually really loved this hotel. They had a computer with free web access in the lobby. The woman at the desk was sweet and friendly. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the La Spezia train station. We really had no complaints. Felt safe and secure, and everything was clean.

Breakfast was rather poor, no home-made food, no cheese and ham. It should be included in the price of the room. Our car was taken away on Friday morning because of the fair on Via Garibaldi. We hadn't noticed the sign. The receptionist should have warned us about it.

The hotel is average, but the woman who was working the desk was not helpfull at all. she incorporated the help of a son and/or husband? who were very helpful. She seemed aggravated to have to deal with americans - but the others tried very hard to help us with our travels the next day and let us park our car there while we went on the train for the day.

Positives: Good location. Not far from the train station where you can catch the train to the cinque terre quickly. The air conditioning worked fine and the tv as well. Negatives: I would not stay here again. No soap or shampoo in the bathroom. There wasn't a view from the window and not much light coming into the room from outside. I was charged 5 euro more for a breakfast which was lacking and there wasn't any meat. There is an old couple that work there who seem a bit tired and unhappy at this point in their lives.
