Maddalena is fantastic and the hotel really well located. It is just a minute walk from the old town, bars and restaurant. Very good. The port is just in front, but it is only for ferries, for tourist, not comercial.

By carOlbia is reachable by plane or ship if you arrive at airport Olbia Costa Smeralda or Arbour Isola Bianca , continue driving up to Palau, along the highway 125 (Olbia-Palau) (Duration 40 ')
Alghero is reachable by plane,at the airport Fertilia, you must then proceed by car along the 127 up to a Sassari, and continue along the 957 state to Olbia. The 125 state will allow you to reach Palau. (Duration approximately 3.5 hours)
You will then have to take the ferry connecting Palau all'Isola Maddalena
