The hotel is within walking distance from the entry to Gibraltar. One of the reception desk people (male) was very helpful in providing directions and recommending resturants. Another (female) was not. We found the best resturants and tapas bars in the city center - also within walking distance. However, to reach them one must walk through a low-cost housing area.

The Iberostar Hotel is well located, only a short walk to the Gibraltar border, where a bus can be taken into town. The immediate surroundings don't offer much but that does not matter. The 6th floor room we occupied was excellent. Large and comfortable and with a balcony which provided a spectacular view of The Rock and the runway of the Gibraltar airport. The bed was huge and most comfortable. The barhroom was clean and had plenty of space with lots of room for bathroom accessories on the wash basin. Garage facilities were good with decent sized parking spaces. The dining room was satisfactory without being outstanding where we did enjoy a good buffet dinner which offered a wide range of choices. Breakfast the following morning also offered plenty of choice. Service at reception was cordial and efficient. The Iberostar proved to be an excellent hotel for our one night stay.

I STAYED OFF SEASON. GIBRALTAR CITY AND THE SEA CAN BE SEEN FROM THE ROOMS. TO GIBRALTAR 10 MINUTES,TO BUS TERMINAL 5 MINUTES IN A WALK. A MARK IS A STELLAR SIGNBOARD.
