Hotel Club Caravanserail (Öküz Mehmetpaşa Kervansarayi) - Kusadasi

I booked this hotel from pictures as an alternative to standard beige on white modern hotels. It was November - not a big tourist time but WOW - a real caravaserai with modern amenities - wifi, minbar, a good shower, an organized front desk and timely reservations are givens in a good hotel - being bumped to a suite with antique vases, carved mahogany rocking chairs, brass inkwell/pens in a roll top desk, domed / vaulted ceilings and the fortress wall arrow shot slits for windows looking out on the harbor are rare in a nice hotel. Easy to imagine the end of the Silk Road and the opening of the Med right before your eyes. Pure magic

Pro: Location and Breakfast Cons: 1) Rude Front Desk, barely speak English, useless in terms to find you solutions for your problems 2) Poor internet quality, no amenities and one old PC to access internet 3) Outrageous prices for laundry, transportation and other services 4) The show on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday for sure won't let you sleep before midnight

Very nice hotel - not standard. Rooms could be slightly refurbished. pictures of room to do not correspond to the reality.

The hotel was distinctive because it was a historical building that was renonvated to become a hotel. The rooms are located around an open courtyard. Our room had all modern facilities. The hotel was centrally located near shopping (unfortunately mostly closed during low season) and the fish market, which has very good valued seafood restaurants. WiFi worked in the room. Heating was sufficient, although it was not very cold when we stayed there in early Jan 2010. We paid only 30 Euro per night, so it was great value. The only potential issue is parking: they have a few parking space that they try to save in front of the hotel, but that's it. Because it was low season, they had no problem saving a space for us, but I can imagine there may not be enough parking during high season.
