We found very few hotels in Kunming with a review so I hope you find this useful. The Kunming Jin Jiang's location is not very central however taxis are excellent value and honest. It is however very close to both the train and bus station, so I would say location shouldn't put you off. The room was at least and probably more than we expected for the price and was better quality than the typical group tour type place. What really made this hotel stand out (and the reason I am writing this review) is the way their incredibly helpful reception staff helped us when we had some belongings stolen when we arrived earlier at the train station. 2 members of staff helped us report and deal with the issue and made what could have been a bad experience not so bad. I really have to take my hat off to them for how helpful they were. So, location, not excellent, room is fine, comfortable, clean and tidy. Staff have absolute top marks.
