I´m completely satisfied with my stay at Royal Hotel. The building where is housed is very beautiful and the room was very big and its decoration was very nice. It´s opposite to Wawel´s Castle. When I get back to Krakow, I´ll return to Royal Hotel.

Very nice hotel. It was much larger than I thought it would be, although it had the small hotel feel. The tram outside was quite loud, but we had no problem sleeping even with the windows open. Great location. I would recommend this hotel.

My main complain is the lack of hairdryer in the bathroom and a huge problem with getting a hold of an iron. The quantity of toiletries provided was rather a drop in the ocean in comparison with any other 3-star hotel I've stayed in. The broadband was very slow, so it might an idea to invest in a faster one. It seems that the room walls have not been painted for a long time. Otherwise the decor and the facilities were OK. Nice and very friendly staff. Although the hotel is conveniently located just opposite the Royal Castle, I would not recommend it to people, who have sleeping problems, as there is a noisy tram line just outside on the east side of the hotel.

The Royal was superbly located within walking distance of all attractions mid way between old town square and the jewish quarter. The on site bar was excellent value for money especially with special offers on meals each evening. Trams ran from outside the hotel up to station and other locations which could be noisy if you aare a light sleeper ask for a room at the rear of the hotel.

Courtesy and professionalism of the reception. Very clean. Great location, in front of the castle. Near the old town. My reservation a standard room and I was given a suite at the same price.

Great location next to the Royal Castle. Hotel being renovated but that didn't cause us any problems. We were in a recently renovated suite which was very spacious - huge bedroom and bathroom and separate sitting room. Few minor bits to be finished off eg lack toilet roll holder. Breakfast buffet was good and the food and atmosphere in the ajoining restaurant was excellent and great value for money - huge portions so make sure you are really hungry!

The Royal is a nice old fashion style hotel. We were lucky to stay in a lovely, very spacious room which was just renovated. We heard from others that not all of the rooms are that convinient. The hotel exists of several buildings, connected by stairs. Elder people or those with a dissability should ask for a room in the first part, that part has an elevator. The location is great, just under the Wawel Hill next to down town Krakow and close to Kazimierz (5-10 minute stroll). Nice and complete breakfast buffet.

We had to change rooms due to the high noisy coming from the pub within the hotel (until 3 pm and more). The rooms of the new apartments are of far lesser quality (and cleaness) than the other ones.

The room had curtains that you couldn't close without the curtains falling off (which they did!). It was fixed by staff but still couldn't close at night to keep out light from the street. The room faced the street which was noisy at night with people and you were woken up at 5 am with the sound of the tram. Room was small, but generally clean, good bathroom and an excellent breakfast. If room wasn't on the street would return as location is excellent, but would have to have a room that didn't face the street and curtains you could close!

What an experience the Royal Hotel was! We requested a room with a view of the Castle but unfortunately it was not possible to have one. Instead we got a suite ( 2 enormous rooms and bathroom) facing the courtyard. Although I was disappointed we enjoyed our stay and bought lovely fresh flowers from the market to brighten our room. A bonus was - it was so quiet - and all the furniture was brand new. The bathroom has also been renovated and clean and fresh. We had dinner at the restaurant more than once and just loved it! The portions are enormous - as stated more than once on this site. We loved Krakow and I am already planning (dreaming) to return. And I will not stay at any other Hotel than the Royal Hotel.

Very, very, very good! From airport; take minibus on the right (about 7pln pro person). Stop near main station. Take a taxi (about 10 pln); 5 minutes by taxi and 15 minutes by foot. Is located in a perfect turistic area.

Excelent location and excelent restaurant. Prices are low regarding the services the Hotel gives. Some aspect of the Hotel show aging, but it is easy to overcome because of the friendship of the restaurant, excelent meals and music. I really recommend the Hotel because of the prices, location, and specially because of the peoples attending the Hotel.

We absolutely loved this old hotel. Lots of character, beautiful breakfasts, excellent restaurant, all just across the road from wawel castle, and a short walk into the main square!

The hotel is old and definitely in need of a major renovation. My room was facing a busy street and the noise from trams made it impossible to sleep. They take a break from 1 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. which is only a small consolation.

This is an average hotel. If you are looking for a place to sleep - no frills - this is your place. The room I was in (Single) was small and this is an older hotel. The hotel staff is not friendly, asking basic questions for non polish speakers will be challenging. There is a gym (hidden a few blocks away) btw - which I found out after some research from locals. Area is sketchy at night - beware if u go out. Only plus - hotel is directly across street from the Royal Castle. Not horrible, but not the best.
