first time trip to Krakow, the city and the hotel where great. I would definitely go again. The hotel was immaculately clean, modern, spacious and in a great location. The room and public areas are very well equipped with modern spacious bathroom, good continental breakfast. very friendly staff

This is a wonderful hotel if you are wanting to see the main tourist sites of Krakov because it is almost right in the sentre of everything. Although we took the taxi because of heavy luggage it is only a 10-15 minute walk to the main train station (taxi 18 zlty). The airport is a 30 minute drive and should cost 80 zlty. The hotel is converted in a baroque period building tastefully resored and converted. Rooms a little on the small side but given location and price this was quite acceptable. Probably the best feature is the variety and quality of the breakfast which is included in the room price. We have stayed in 5* hotels with breakfasts no where near as good as this. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel in an excellent location. Staff were very friendly; breakfast was varied & very nice. Room (202) had a great view of Grodska St and the picturesque church opposite, it was also warm and very clean, although the bed was a little on the hard side. This was our first visit to Krakow & would recommend this hotel for it's price, location and good value.

Hotel and staff were excellent as was the central location. On a couple of nights we were woken by some drunks who were singing loudly in the street below our window, but this was hardly the Hotel's fault. We would recommend this hotel to all who would visit this lovely City.

Me and my colleague went to attend a conference in mid-February. The location of the hotel can not be better. Just a few minutes walk in either side one can go to Main Square or the Wawel castle. The street itself is very old-European style, which I liked. In the reception people are nice, good in English and helpful, without being insisting. Breakfast was excellent. I specially liked the breads. Above all there is kind of homely atmosphere, not like a common business hotel, which I enjoyed very much. There was a oil-heater in the room, but I used to put a light jacket in the room. Could not find any A/C. So, not sure about the cooling system in the summer. But one can open the window I think.

the room was stark , dark , bed very uncomfortable , pillow flat as a pancake . there were some sort of pipes outside our window making noise all night. the area was okay. the breakfast room, and the food were great. but not worth the stay. by the way avoid krakow as well because it doesn't go up hill from here.

Since the hotel was overbooked, we were transferred to the Kossak hotel instead. However, the Kossak turned out to be an excellent hotel and the staff handled the change professionally and swiftly. The Kossak hotel was also close enough to the Old Town where we intended to stay.

We didnt spend much time in the hotel. No complaints, the rooms were spotless the staff helpful and very polite, the view from our room was fabulous. A kettle in the room would have been nice, although the staff dididnt mind me taking a cup of tea up with me after breakfast. (I did take the cup back down to the resturant. The staff kindly kept hold of our luggage after check out because we didnt fly home until the evening. Sorry to do this to you Hotel Senacki but the beds were painfuly rock hard, our friends both said the same at breakfast every morning. This would be the only reason we wouldnt stay with you again. Grt new matresses and we would hesitate.

Excellent location in the Old Town midway between the Castle and Main Square, with a number of excellent restaurants and pubs. In the Church of St Peter and St Paul there were concerts of music by Chopin. The town is easily walkable, being flat, there is a 24hr shop opposite for toiletries, food, drink etc. Breakfast is as better than normal in most European cities. I have recommended this hotel to friends, since returning home. Will definitely return in future.

We stayed at the Senacki in January 2009 for three nights. The hotel was excellent and we would recommend it without hesitation. The rooms were excellent, the service great and the breakfasts were very nice indeed. The location for exploring Krakcow is excellent too. We will be returning to Krakcow in the future and will certainly be looking to stay in this hotel again.

This hotel was ideally situated for a preXmas break-closenesss to the square, the castle area, public transport-main train and bus station 10 minutes walk away. Buffet breakfast very good-wide buffet selection for all tastes-hot choices available at no extra cost but werent publicised openly! We went to Auchwitz/Birkenau via hot minibus from downstairs at the bus station-took about 1 hr 40minutes-(8Zl each way)regular passengers also used the service. The big bus at 10 Zl leaves from upstairs-signposted the name of the nearest town-Oswiecim Bought our own guide-maps and saw the place at our own pace-fold out maps at both ends of the guides and good commentaries on both places-free bus runs between the two-we took a rip off taxi to get on an earlier bus back to Cracow-be warned! We visited the Salt mines at the end of the day- English speaking tours leave in frequently and not neceassarily at the advertised times-you also pay 20Zl more than the advertised price for such a tour!(for being English!)An excellent trip-best to catch the bus from the road perpendicular to and opposite the Galeria shopping mall next to the main train station.(2.5zl each way)It is not obvious where to get off so be sure to make the driver knows where you want to go to!The bus will not stop at the other town stops if full!A minibus stopped right outside the mine for the return trip- Excellent restaurants nearby on the same street-a favourite was Pod Aniolami-(Under the Angels)35 ul.Grodzka lovely Polish food..and wine/vodka-Have a flavoured icy vodka to start with to set off the meals!Shopping in the market place was good and not tacky on the whole-prices were not cheaper than the UK but choices were novel! Some lovely little local shops to boost the suitcase baggage weight!

We had a great few days at the Senaki Hotel, the staff were very efficient and very friendly. The Bar was closed for the whole of our stay but the small bar in the Restaurant served us drinks until midnight. The mini bar in the room was very well stocked and the prices were very reasonable. Bottles of water were free and any drinks were replaced regularly. Someone must have been checking the rooms each time you go out as we had a small bottle of wine each before going out in the evening and when we returned the wine had been replenished. The rooms was to the front and was of a high high standard. The en suite facility was large and very modern. The hotel breakfast was exceptionally good with continental style items but on request you could have a fully cooked English style breakfast this was included in your b & b price. The restaurant food was excellent, we only had one meal there, as we like to eat out in various places, the food was fantastic and like everything else the service was 5 star. The hotel is only 200 yards from Main Market Square and about 500 yards to the Castle. I would DEFINATELY recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in Krakow, it may have been a few pounds more expensive that other hotels but DEFINATELY worth the extra and more. Tip from us, we got a taxi from the hotel to the Airport it cost us 70 PLN. On arrival we had taken a bus to the train then a taxi to the hotel total cost of that was 35 PLN. Next time I go to Krakow I will take taxi both ways and will stay at the Senaki Hotel again. When you are there take a horse and carriage ride from Main Square 100 PLN for the total hire of up to 6 people for one hour round the town and the Jewish Quarter - great fun. If you are of a mind visit Aushwitz - brings history to full meaning very tastfully done not at all harrowing like you would think. All in all a great few days away. Will go again definately.

Perfect location, right in the heart of Krakow! Wonderful, friendly welcome late at night. Great help in organizing transfers for us. Large room, nicer than photography published at venere. Staff: 75% very friendly and competent, 25% lazy and unfriendly. We like to see the positive, but there is room for improvement with 25% of the staff. During our long stay, the breakfast buffet was often grazed, the staff having to be asked to fill up. However: we loved the hotel and the city and feel this was a great vacation for us.

As this was our 2nd stay in this hotel we were obviously happy to return. The reception staff are lovely people, intelligent and helpful. If I had any niggles it would be with the breakfast bar not always kept topped up with fresh bread, tea cups, food, and the staff not volunteering to help - you have to seek someone out and ask for what is required. Having said that, if we were to visit Krakow again, we would definitely stay there.

I was here with my Brother who is 75 years old and unable to walk too far or use stairs. The position of this hotel near to all points of interest and its good lift is ideal. The hotel situation is superb being so centrally located and is ideal for live music concerts in St Peter and St Pauls church which is opposite. All of the staff were very helpfull their Eglish is excellent which is good as my Polish is non existant. The evening meal was good quality and the bar was nice to come back to in the evening.

This hotel was the best of our 2 week trip to Europe. WONDERFUL! The location is perfect. The room is beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. The staff is wonderful. The minibar is reasonably priced and well-stocked. Wished we could have stayed longer! Only downside was the lack of internet, but there is a nice, inexpensive internet "cafe" a short walk away that was really convenient.

A most enjoyable stay.It was a perfectly located hotel.Athough the room was a little dated it overlooked the Church and was comfortable. The only negative was that I requested a double and got a twin, not a major problem though.Staff were very friendly and helpful.Breakfast was more than adequate.A big disappointment though was that the bar was closed because of lack of custom,it would have been nice to relax with a nightcap before retiring to bed.Overall an excellent hotel, probably deserving of a better star rating.Whenever I return to Krakow I shall stay at the Senacki.

My only problem was that the room did not seem to be dusted at all either to begin with when we took occupancy of the room, or over the course of our 5 night stay. However, everything else about the hotel was spot on. You could not be better located within the city, turn left out of the hotel and 300m to the main square, turn right out of the hotel and 250m to Wawel Castle or 750m to the old Jewish Quarter. Krakow is a wonderful, vibrant, historic city and we will be back and when we do return we will be staying in the Senacki, dust n all!! Also, it would have been nice if the bar had been open during our stay, although we were able to have a beer in the dining room before heading to bed.

A lovely hotel right in the centre of the old part of Krakow, 15 minutes walk from the station. The hotel appears to have been refubished fairly recently and everything is up together. We were on the second floor in a "standard double" room overlooking the main street; both bedroom and bathroom were clean and well presented. Good English spoken at reception, and very helpful staff. Nice bar in the basement.

Probably the best located hotel in Old Krakow, the hotel Senacki lies within a few hundred metres of both the main market square and the castle on the main street linking the two and is also within very easy walking distance of all the major attractions of the old town. I won't go into a list of these attractions, but experiencing the hot wine stalls and Krakow's version of fast food in the main square by themselves made it worth making a trip to city! Staff in the hotel were both friendly and polite, and more than willing to help with any queries that we had. The room was of a good size and quality with a large (shower-only) on-suite and fully stocked mini-bar, and was kept spotless by the cleaning staff. We didn't use the hotel restaurant apart from breakfast, which was a continental buffet as standard along with a cooked breakfast if you wished. Possibly the only downside to the experience was that the hotel bar was closed during our stay. While there are several bars literally just round the corner from the Senacki, it would have been pleasant to end an evening with a nightcap in the hotel. That said however, the superbe location of the hotel more than made up for any disappointment.

They love it if you try to speak some Polish - even if it is just please and thankyou. We were impressed with their dedication and efficiency, patience and politeness. The hotel is ideally situated close to the Castle, Cathedral and the Square with many good restaurants within easy walking distance. Cracow-tours proved the most expensive for the trip to the Salt Mines - but at approx £24 per head it was worth every penny. It pays to check weather forecast before travelling so you are well prepared - we had snow and rain and freezing cold but were dressed appropriately. We would love to return another time, but perhaps in spring or early autumn.

This was the first time we stayed and it won't be the last. The room was very comfortable and clean. The power shower was fantastic. The surroundings of the hotel are amazing, with the Rynek, Wawel and Kasimierz all within walking distance. If there are concerts in the church opposite, you MUST go, it is a lovely experience. We were so impressed we are having a family holiday there. We didn't try the restaurant, but if breakfast was anything to go by, the food should be very tasty. The staff were incredibly helpful, spoke excellent English (including the cleaner) and bent over backwards to help in any way they could. Excellent access for young and old alike. All in all, a VERY good hotel.

We got to the Senacki to find that due to a problem on their booking system, they had overbooked the hotel and had instead booked us into another hotel. I was very disapointed, as I'd heard good things about the Senacki and it looked nice from what little we saw. Fortunately the hotel that they booked us into, The Pod Roza, was also a good quality hotel and only minutes from the market square. The Senacki arranged and paid for a taxi to take us there and paid the extra cost of our more expensive hotel room. We had a lovely break, despite the mix up and lots of snow and I can highly recommend Krakow. As we I couldn't enter this comment, without filling in the ratings, I have entered an arbitary rating of 4 out of 5, based on previous ratings, what little we saw and our good treatment by the staff in what could have turned out to be a bad experience.

You quoted me a room rate in EURO but the hotel would not accept payment in EURO. They also would not accept travelers cheques (in EURO) as a form of payment. I was forced to use my credit card and pay in local currency. If the hotel prefers to deal in local currency, you should quote rates in their currency and let prospective guests know so they can prepare in advance. I did not want to use a credit card to avoid additional fees by the bank and now have no choice but to pay them. This could have been avoided had your site been more accurate. Otherwise, the hotel was very nice and very convenient to getting around Krakow.
