We stayed at Hotel Kossak with our 2 teenage granddaughters for 4 nights, and although the allocated rooms were fine my wife and I upgraded at £10 pn to get a wonderful view of the river and Wawel castle. Our first night we ate in the rooftop garden restaurant, and we absolutely loved it.Fantastic views with wonderful food and service, for a very reasonable price. You even get a 10% discount if you are a hotel guest. The distance to the old town where there are hundreds of bars and restaurants is only a 15 minute walk and about 10 minutes in the other direction to the Jewish quarter. The temperatures whilst we were there were mainly 35-42 degrees so it was lovely to come back to the air conditioned rooms. We normally like to try various restaurants ,but we made a point of eating again at the hotel on our last evening.Breakfasts are plentiful and excellent.Recommend trying to get a room with a view of castle and river

We did very much enjoy our stay. One remark - the kitchen must do a better job to provide bread without gluten. The staff did otherwise an excellent job.

Stayed for one night in January 2011. Nice and clean, new-looking, standard 'business class' hotel. A couple of gripes: the 'double' bed was the ol' stick-two-singles-next-to-each-other-and-hope-nobody-falls-down-the-gap job, and the heater made such a racket rattling through the night we had to turn it off = freezing cold room in the morning. Its location just outside Kazimierz (with views of the Wawel castle) might justify the price, but I've stayed at simliar places for less in the past.

This hotel is wonderful! It is in walking distance of the Wawel Castle, and a much longer walk to the town square. Room was pretty spacious for two people. TV had several English-speaking stations. Bathroom was very nice. Shower was good. The only bad thing about the shower was that the head of the bath tub/shower was in the middle of the wall, instead of at the end. The partial plexiglas "curtain" could not shield the water from almost covering the floor. The bed was so comfortable, as well as good pillows. The minibar was convenient, as well as the heated towel racks in the bathroom. Though our room faced a busy street, we were able to keep the window closed at night because of the good air conditioning. So it was very quiet at night. And the wireless was FREE and it worked. Great breakfast also. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who has to go to Krakow.
