The Palms is a typical Inn with wooden houses. For the expensive Key West it was a good relationship between price and quality. The room was clean and exactly as described on the hotel web page. Unfortunately, the window of the bathroom was out of order and couldn't be opened. Therefore it was a little bit sticky in the room after taking a shower. The houses are located around a patio with pool and bar. At the bar the breakfast was offered outside. Excellent idea! The breakfast was fine with lots of coffee, pastries and fruits. The parking lot of the hotel announced during the booking was every time occupied, so that we have to search for a parking lot in the surrounding streets. Unfortunately, the staff was a little bit harsh and not very helpful in explaining the property rules on welcoming. The price we had to pay differed from that announced on the web page and from that the hotel confirmed us after the booking. It was explained by different tax conditions. Actual, we never got an invoice as requested. The only debited our credit card. The hotel is a good starting point to visit the old town of Key West by foot. However, it is located on the periphery of the old town and it takes you 30-45 minutes to go the Mallory Square.

The hotel is rather old, built maily of wood construction. Any movement or walking can be heard. It also feels like it is tilting a bit. The room is extremely small. Too pricey. I wish I paid a little bit more and stayed in a more decent hotel.

It's a great value, very well located, services are great ; discreet and helpful employees, excellent quality breakfast (fresh fruit, pastries...), cute swimming pool, clean towels for swimming pool, charming staff, free parking for car in the street, near Duvall street and the pier with possibility to rent bikes (10$ per day) which is a good way to visit Key West. Go there no problems, the best hotel of our journey in Florida.

We really liked this hotel. Looks more like a bed & breakfast and we noticed some rooms were actually more like mini-apartments. The room we had was a 'double' and happen to be really small. In fact in this case double doesn't mean double queen size bed but double for two people! Other than this misunderstanding, it was very clean, cozy and in a nice and convenient position. If you like to walk you can easily reach main attractions (Duval St., Mallory Sq.,..) - about 15 minutes walk. Considering difficulties to find parking in Key West, it is actually good the hotel offer some parking spots. It couldn't be enough for every guest.

Tiny room with a very small double bed ( 1m20 or so ) Other family of 5 or 6 ... with 3 dogs loitering around the pool and barking at some people . Self service buffet breakfast overrated by the owners , if compared with others we had in Florida .

A nice little and clean room without having high expectations and demands. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The only negative aspect was the long walk down to Duval Street. If we ever go back to Key West we will stay there again.

Our double room was quite small, but very clean (especially being a pet friendly establishment) and honestly just perfectly fine - we are not the type of people who go on vacation to hang out in our rooms. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The breakfast had more options than was expected and the times offered for it were excellent. We brought our own bikes which we were able to store on the property. Some may complain about the walking distance to Duval if they are not use to getting around by foot or bike, but I think its a pleasant safe walk that really is not that far. And you're in a nice quiet part of town. Overall, we would definitely stay here again. We got a good price on Venere - Hey, Key West is not cheap! Thank you for a pleasant stay!

Buyer beware. What you see on the website photos is not exactly what you get. It is very deceiving. Parking is non-exsistant but is not mentioned at booking. Our room for the two nights was just outside the pool. The last night we stayed - there were people partying all night - we asked several times for them to keep it down but to no avail. We would have had to call a number in order to reach someone to attend to the noise. So - if you are expecting a restful nights sleep - don't stay at the Palms.

The rooms were small, but cute. The beds were extremely stiff and the room never seemed to cool off. We had hoped for a location closer to Duval, but it was Spring Break, so we figured this would be close enough to walk there, but it wasn't. You would want to call a cab to get around or ride bikes/mopeds. The breakfast was great, the view of the pool and access to it was great also. The staff was friendly and the place was quaint and quiet. It is not a bad deal for the money in comparison to other facilities in Key West. I think I would want to stay closer to Duval on my next trip, though.
