We paid ~£60 per night for a deluxe room with a large twin room overlooking the main pedestrian street. The room was non-smoking but had a communal type balcony if you would need to smoke. Drinks and food in the bar and restaurant were cheap by UK prices and even offered a 20% discount to hotel guests. We chose this hotel mainly for it's leisure amenities but never actually ventured to the pool/sauna. Location is perfect on Liberty Avenue but do not, like me underestimate the distance from one end to the other! The hotel, for us was perfectly located between the Old Town and the train station (for a day trip to Vilnius £5 per person each way. If mobility is likely to be a problem then I'd ask the hotel to order a taxi to take you to the train station - we didn't require this but I imagine it would be inexpensive as with everything in Lithuania. Overall this hotel was great from the welcome drinks whilst we waited for our room to be prepared to being given the opportunity to try smoked pig's ears on the breakfast buffet and would not hesitate to stay here again although I think the world is too large a place to keep returning to the same cities/hotels but that's just my opinion. During your stay in Kaunas do try taking both of the funiculars to see an overview of the city from different angles and do enjoy being one of the very few tourists.

How to reach Kaunas Hotel
By carIf you arrive by car from the direction of Vilnius, Klaipėda or Lazdijai:
As soon as you drive into the city pay attention to indicators, showing the direction to the city center. While going along Karaliaus Mindaugo avenue or K.Donelaitis street, you’ll see road-signs with reference to Hotel Kaunas. From the said streets you need to get to Maironio street, which intersects Laisvės avenue, and that’s the place where the Hotel Kaunas is located. The driveway to the Hotel is from Maironio street.
By airplane
If you arrive to the international Vilnius airport:
It’s most convenient and fastest to take a taxi. That would cost around 250 LTL.
If you arrive at Kaunas airport, take micro-bus No.120, which takes you to the beginning of Laisvės avenue. Then, you should go around 400 meters by walk. However, it’s most convenient to take a taxi. That would cost around 35 LTL.
