Fantastic Hotel with Fantastic staff and spacious rooms. The staff made us feel very welcome, and the owner took our 2 families to his farm to show our children which was great. Good breakfast, and a nice pool bar with local wine only 1 euro per glass. Our children loved the pool , and they were very accepting of families. The beach immediately across the road was not the best part of the beach for swimming as it was very slippery on the rocks under foot, so best to go a bit further along the beach. The hotel next door recommended by the Boathouse is great. Highly recommend, and would love to stay there again.

Kamari Beach is an excellent area to stay in Santorini as it's only 20-40 minutes away from the main touristy sites of Thira and Iao by bus. We got a room with a view of the sea and it was absolutely gorgeous! Furthermore, the staff is really helpful! My only complaint is that the hotel uses solar power to heat the water (yay solar power!) so you are not guaranteed a hot shower. Also, for budget travelers, there is a 2 euro gyro place 2 doors down that we didn't find out out about until the last day. Everything was super great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return easily. The location just off the beach but at the north end of the resort area is great. Being able to sit on a porch or balcony and look out as the sun rises was terrific. With the pool right there, a dip was easy and refreshing. The staff was really knowledgeable, willing to help, flexible and friendly. The convenience of an associated restaurant so you could order food from the patio (and try the moussaka, it was great) was convenient. The breakfast was delicious and well organized to permit one to eat out on the patio or take it to one's room. We stayed for five nights.

Beyond our expectations. Such a great value for the cost. The breakfast was great and staff most helpful. Rooms were cleaned and changed out daily. If you would like to stay on this part of the Island this is the place. It was a short walk into Kamari.

You could not find a better owner than the one from Boathouse. Everyone there is friendly and make you feel welcome. Breakfast is fresh, coffee is good. A few steps from the hotel's pool, several steps from the beach, tons of restaurants closed by. At night, the wonderful sounds from ocean will ease your mind. Easy bus access to Fira and Oia.

The Boathouse is a family run waterfront Hotel on Kamari Beach (not to be confused with the Boathouse Taverna just 2 doors away!) We enjoyed 3 nights here in one of their deluxe rooms with air - conditioning, telephone, safe-box, bathroom - bath with shower over- and balcony with seaview; we were on the ground floor so actually it was a pool view. Pool towels are provided so no need to bring your own and the beach is literally steps away too. Breakfast is included - a good buffet with bacon and eggs as well as cheese and meats, cereals, fresh fruit salad - served by the pool or as we were on the ground floor could have on our own balcony. The hotel is at the quieter end of Kamari about - just a 5-minute walk from its centre and about a 15-minute bus ride from the main town of Thira. Room rate being low season was just 58 euros per night per room - we booked via venere.com and got a slight discount from room rate quoted on main hotel web site. Unique Qualities: We really enjoyed the location - not had a hotel so close to the beach before and restaurants - so many to choose from even closer. Guest have 10% discount in the Almira restaurant a few steps away. As always the best meal we had was on the last night - the SeaSide restaurant, located just next door! Staff were friendly and soon helped us out with our request for car hire for a day and taxi transfer to the airport - Kamari is not far from the airport and the planes did come in fairly though low but there are not that many flights during the day and fewer at night so noise did not really bother us.

Ok...i cry when i think of the Boathouse..cuz i feel like i´ve left family behind...Thats what the people at the boathouse make you feel like...family. Santorini is such an amazing place..it´s whimsical! and then you stay at a place like the boathouse and you feel like asking them to adopt you...lol. I had a bit of drama happen to me during my first few hours there...taking my first swim in the beach i attampted to climb the rock out in the water..well...i have to say i am on known to be very unlucky...and that is what i was struck with...i stepped on an anenamie...i didnt know what it was just knew i stepped on something that pricked my foot...i showed it to spirro ...who is one of the owners for the boathouse and he was able to identify what i stepped on....but get this ...all the locals and the people at the hospital (yes spirro was kind enough to find someone to watch over the hotel while he drove me to the hospital to see if they can get the pricks out) they were all surprised to hear of my injury..b/c on that side of the island there was only one anenamie to be found...and never before had someone encountered it...well leave it to me to find it...lol. WHile that was a huge upset to part of my trip..it still didn´t stop me from enjoying the beauty of the island and the welcoming of your hotel staff! The boathouse also has a restaurant where the food was amazing...oh and the man that runs the restaurant..which is spirro´s business partner is such cute eye candy..lol. You must walk the beachside strip..and when you come across the bar that sells margaritta´s...can´t remember the name of it...but you´ll see it....you must have a margaritta...and should you go back more than once...be carefull on mistakin the girls that work there as one person...they are twins...lol.fira is a very beautiful city..great pubs to check out..murphy´s and kookoo club. Loved my time here...THANK YOU SPIRRO & COMPANY!!!

Very nice hotel, good facilities, very close to the beach. Rooms are spacious and clean, swimming pool and breakfasts are good... It's worth it! But, overall, the staff is really helpful. When arriving by plane, our luggage was lost, and they phoned several times to the airport until it was found the next day. If we come back to Santorini, we will come back to this hotel!

Perfect location if you want to be on the beach and close to the restaraunts without being right in the nosiest bit of the resort. Plenty of bars and a couple of great places to eat within a minutes walk yet at the quiet end of the 'strip' so not too crowded. The owners are the most friendly and welcoming people who will collect you from the airport/port and return you again. They are happy to advise you of the best places to eat out and to visit but are happy to leave you in peace by the pool if that's what you prefer. Get a room at the front overlooking the pool and beach as the view from the back of the property didn't look that inspiring. Kamari isn't the most authentic ly Greek of resorts - just a sprawl of streets with food, bars and more food but also the most amazing 'black' volcanic beach and a quite relaxing retreat from the busiest areas of Santorini. Very enjoyable stay.
