Hotel Avra is located just a few steps from the sea on the island of Santorini, in the Cyclades Islands. This clean and comfortable hotel is situated near the village of Kamari, in a peaceful area on the eastern part of the island, yet only 500 meters/0.3 miles from restaurants, taverns and shops.
This charming Santorini hotel consists of two buildings surrounded by a beautiful private garden, allowing visitors to enjoy a truly pleasant and relaxing holiday in Greece. The property is located close to the famous Kamari beach, where many water sports can be practiced in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea.

This hotel is a good budget option for Kamari. It's not beachfront, but that's not a bad thing as you won't have people gawking at you as you laze by the pool, and it means it's very quiet and peaceful. In any event it's only about 1 minute's walk from the beach and shops. The pool is big enough to swim lengths and the hotel has a really nice shady garden. Our room was at the back of the hotel and we did not have a sea view but our room was extremely spacious and clean (airconditioned too). A basic continental breakfast was included in the price. Although it's pretty much purely a tourist resort and not a traditional village, Kamari is a good base as the beach is long and swimmable (so long as you don't mind a bit of a clumsy entrace/exit to the water due to the pebbles) and there are plenty of shops and restaurants. It's close to the airport and easy to get to Fira (the main town) on the bus.

Good value for money but not well indicated on the map. Breakfast should be improved (no cakes, no fruits, one type of cereals, tea and coffee made of local desalted water which had a strange taste)Friendly people and good location, near the beach. Customers should be warned that is it not very far from the incoming airplane routes.

We spend really lovely time in Avra hotel. It's just a few meters from the beach. The surrounding area is full of quiet restaurant, swimming pool is great and rooms are spaciuos with nice balcony.

In the photographs, we saw a beautiful building with swimming pool... Unfortunatly, our room was far away in another building, beside constructions of buildings. The room was dark, the entering full of trees and flowering plant as a jungle and the access was difficult. We had just a little rope to hang out our linen. We felt as if we had been punished to be there. In addition, we wanted to pay cash but without telling us the hotel took the money on my credit card using the number I gave for the booking. Maybe some people can enjoy the breakfast but the orange juice "tang" and the coffee made with local-water were undrinkable. We don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was excellent for the price and ideally located although initially it was a little difficult to find. The facilities were good and the pool was great for time spent at the hotel. One shortoming would be the breakfast. As an Englishman, i am not overly keen on the continental breakfast but there were plenty of places to obtain alternative meals within walking distance.

i was charged for the hotel on my credit card before i came to stay at the hotel when the website i booked it on said i would not be charged until i arrived; i had planned to pay in cash and because they charged my card i paid sixty euros more in american dollars than i would have if i could have just paid in cash please do not post that customers will not be charged when they are
How to reach Hotel Avra
By airplane
The flying time from Athens international airport to Santorini is approximately 40 minutes. Santorini national airport is located near Monolithos beach, about 8 km/5 miles south east of Fira, the island's capital. The transfer time between Fira and the airport is about twenty minutes by bus. Taxi service is available for connections to any part of the island. The village of Kamari is easily reachable, either by bus or by taxi, from the airport and from the capital.
By boat
To reach the island of Santorini there are daily ferry boat services connecting the Athens port of Piraeus to the harbour of Fira, the island's main town. The boat trip takes about 7 hours. The village of Kamari is easily reachable from the capital's harbour either by bus connection or by taxi service.
