Only accept cash The firts day is difficult to find the hotel with the mail explanation but then is easy Hotel is near to Damascus gate, in the middle of the market and it's close at 7pm, after this hour nobody is in streets. The old city is a pedestrian area and any taxi, or guided tour pick up in the hotel or in Damascus gate. If the hotel costs 40 euros/night maximun will be ok, but 96 euros (in 2011 or 120 U$) is too expensive because only have a small and clean room and brealfast. But the staff put problems for reserve a taxi, for breakfast -take away when we had a tour guided very early. The tours in hotel are really expensive: one day 300 euros/ 1 person

What a great experience - one of my favorite hotels! Hashimi is not a fancy place, the rooms are simple and small. But the location is amazing (Muslim quarter in the bustling heart of Old City Jerusalem), and the great friendly service from our host, Saleh, made us feel welcome, safe, and well cared for. Eating breakfast on the roof of the hotel, with its breathtaking view of the Old City, was one of the highlights of my stay in Jerusalem. I will come back to Hashimi if I am lucky enough to visit Jerusalem again!

The hotel is inside the old city which gives you easy access to the sites of interest. We arrived at 3 am in the morning, the door is locked but we entered by chance because somebody was leaving. We were waiting at the reception for 3 hours!!! I was calling the duty phone number, send SMS but the person never replied until he arrived. It is owned by Arabs so pressumibly he was in the mosque when i was trying to call but the thing here is that there is no 24h reception.

I arrived early in the rain and was given a double room. The location is great for walking in the old city. Taxis can't access the hotel, there's a five minute walk to Damascus gate. The hotel does airport transfer, but regular taxis are cheaper. The rooftop terrace has a wonderful design and a fantastic view.

Great location in the Arab Quarter not far from Damascus Gate, and within easy walking distance of other attractions in the Old City. Superb view from the rooftop. Wi-Fi available.

Great location. Be sure to checkout the amazing view of the Dome of the Rock from the rooftop of the hotel. Public spaces were great. Rooms were noisy and smelled musty but were acceptable for the price. My biggest complaint -- they don't accept credit cards and there are no real ATMs in the old city (only money changers) so be prepared in advance with cash! They should've mentioned this upon check-in rather than check-out. Free wireless internet with intermittent connection.

Very strange place ))), arab guided hotel, smolest room in my life and very basic, pleasant lobby "welcome to Palestine" poster on a wall, Hamas fighters -like looking staff, bad breackfast and WiFi only at lobby, not in the rooms... BUT IMPOSSIBLE VIEW FROM THE HOTEL'S ROOF TO THE TEMPLE ON THE ROCK AND AL-AQSA MOSQUE!!!!) THE VERY BEST POINT OF VIEW IN JERUSALEM!!! Strongly recomeded to see all these once in your life (not twice)

We travelled to Jersusalem in January and stayed in Hashimi for 3 nights. It was cold in the room, and though we were given an additional heater (the one that was in the room was broken) after we asked for it (and we were not the only ones to ask), it was still quite cold. It was almost impossible to shower, since the temperature in the shower room was almost freezing, and the water in the water heater was boiling. So you had to choose – to freeze or to boil yourself alive. The water on the floor of the shower room didn't go away and the floor was wet all the time. The breakfast was meager, and the staff didn't refill the bowls with food, so if you come a bit late, you basically have no food to eat. However the hotel is located in a wonderful place, the staff were friendly, wifi works well in the lobby, the view from the roof is magnificent.

A modestly priced, conveniently located hotel makes for a very good experience. It is clean, neat and well maintained. If you are looking for a place to begin your cultural, historical or religious experience of old Jerusalem on a budget, this is an excellent value. If you are looking to travel in a bubble of Western "elegance" then you may not care for it. There are no chocolates on the pillow! If you are looking for an experience with an Oriental ambience at a reasonable price, I recommend it.
