Very small room, in a space like an anex in the backyard. Being there just for the price. (beware of the turkish taxi drivers as well!)

This hotel is inexpensive and a good deal for the price, but it has some flaws.<br /> <br /> The breakfast was terrible, I really prefer an elevator to lugging my bags upstairs and the room was tiny. I had to type my dispatches with the laptop literally on my lap.<br /><br /> One of the first words I learned in Turkish was hamam bocegi -cockroach- and now I know why. <br /><br /> Although the staff was reasonably friendly, I was disappointed when I gave 5 YTL to a young man and asked him to do three things while I was out picking up my laundry.<br /><br /> 1. Call me a cab and give the drive directions to my next hotel<br /> 2. Find out the time and price of a coach to Datca, on the south coast of Turkey<br /> 3. Bring down my bags from one flight up.<br /> He didn't complete any of my requests and I ended up giving another 2 YTL to a different employee to fetch my bags abd I had to get the Datca information on my own. <br /><br /> The neighborhood is seedy but fantastically interesting. Just a few blocks from the main train/bus station in downtown Izmir and less than 500 meters from the ancient Agora, I couldn't have been happier with the location. <br /><br /> I wouldn't stay there again because there are many other better choices, but I think it is a good choice for a student or couple on a budget.<br />
