Oglakcioglu Park Hotel – Boutique Class - Izmir

Correct. Mosquee near, so at 5.30 you wake up with the prayers. Surroundings no so good. Good breakfast

This was probably the nicest hotel we stayed at in Turkey. The room rivaled any business class hotel's (e.g.,the Hilton). The decor was nice and the shower was fantastic. The breakfast had a broad selection. Some of the other reviewers did not like the neighborhood, but we were puzzled by that. There is a place down the boulevard where you can place bet on sports, so many men congregated around there, but they were harmless; we did not witness any "red-light" activities. We even hung out at the juice bar outside the hotel near midnight. There were still plenty of people around and we felt perfectly safe. A small negative note, we had a room on the top floor and there the Wifi signal was weak (laptop OK, but handheld no).

The Hotel is very nice, centrally located, though not in a very good area (I must say), extremely clean -I was even offered a handwash gel upon checking in-. The rooms are well decorated and very spacious. The only incoveninet -which happens even to 5 star hotels- would be that the walls are quite thin and you could hear every noise from the neighbouring room. Sometimes I had the feeling that there were not any walls and that we were all together in the same room. If you are a heavy sleeper you will not have any problems but if you are not take some earplugs or better cross your fingers that the next room be vacant. The staff is very very friendly, always at your disposal. Many thanks to the guy from the reception who brought to my room the wallet I had foolishly left in the car I had rented during the day. Although some supplementary english courses for the staff would be more than welcome.

It has benn almast impossibile to get the hotel because of complete absence of indications along the streets.

As a single female traveling alone, I felt very safe in this hotel -- Izmir is a bit of a gritty city, and its tourist attractions aren't fantastic. I only stayed one night to catch a flight to Paris the next morning, and the hotel is in walking distance to the Havas shuttle to the airport (10 lira, very dependable and timely), which is one of the reasons I chose it. They have a computer you can use for free and the staff was nice and their english was pretty good. The breakfast was fantastic, and they give you two tickets for a free coffee or tea, which was nice.

Road was dug up outside back entrance to hotel...so v muddy when rained. upgraded to bigger room. nosy as next to corridor leading to bar. cold in dining room for breakfast, tho gd choces.do have a hotel courtesy car to use to take to airport wich was aprox same price and better than hassle with taxi driver...presume they could meet u from airport too if requested. decor was a bit overpowering not a single clear space anywhere!

Cleanliness, professionalism, willingness. By my experience surely one of the best choice for Izmir.

We enjoyed Izmir very much. We did not expect it to be so interesting and welcoming. We stayed one day more than we expected. The staff was very accomodating. Everybody was determined to make sure we had a great experience at Park Hotel Izmir.

Ezcellant location in Basmane within close walking distance to the Liman at Alsancak. A short drive to Bornovo shopping area where Ikea, Kipa etc are situated. Truely 4 star hotel .. excellant value for money

The staff were charming and very professional. The room was very pretty, but slightly cramped. My only complaints: 1. the beds were rather narrow (reminded me of student halls of residence) 2. I couldn't work the TV satellite receiver to find something to watch in English.

Hotel was hard to find, because the location map provided was too ambiguous.

All sights (Konak, Alsancak, Kadifekale) in 30 Minutes walking distance. Can get good food at Dört Mevsim Ocanbasi in 1369 just about 50m from hotel. It's a nice, typical city hotel with a very good standard (in Germany I'd rate it a 4-star) and very friendly staff. I'd consider it suited for all travellers, however main focus seems to be on business travellers. The "typical" rucksack traveller who likes "sittin' by the fire" with beer and other people won't be happy there. And - at least our room - would be too small for a third bed for a child.

The location is very good which is very close to the main train station eventhough there isn't a very clear map to show it's location. The room is clean, well decorated and spacious with a very reasonable price.
