Hotel Caravel - Ixia

Great hotel! Warm staff and near the beach. There's also a bus taking straight from the airport to the hotel. Also a ten-minute trip to the Old Town and New Town (Rhodes) by bus.

The family who own this business really know the meaning of welcoming and friendly!!

I stayd one night due flight connection. My only complaint is about bathroom: shower gel and shampoo missing and I needed to buy them.

Above really nice small appartment for reasonnable price, Caravel really have one of the best restaurant of the surrounding (which is not the most expensieve)!

The hotel fitted the descriptions exactly. The rooms were spacious and clean.The staff very helpful and the hotel situation is perfect for both the beach and Rhodes Town.We ate in the Coconut restaurant(10% discount for residents) and it was very good, probably the best in the area. We had a wonderful holiday and honestly couldn't fault anything with the Caravel.

Very friendly and easy-going atmosphere. Very spacious and clean room, with cooking facility. Staff eager to help with anything. Only improvements I would suggest are the breakfast and a larger TV set. For the rest everything perfect.

Stayed 11 nights and will use this hotel again. Excellent value for money. Initially given room 205 which overlooks a partially constructed building. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but it is a horrible view! They did move us to a better room as soon as one became available. The owners are a lovely couple and we enjoyed our stay very much. Ixia will never be famous for it's restaurants, but they're ok. Standards do vary. We tried the hotel restaurant once but we weren't impressed. We ordered stuffed vine leaves as a starter. It arrived in less than 3 minutes and was almost cold. Kleftiko was ok but again almost cold. When will the Greeks realise that luke warm food served under those enormous ceiling fans is not particularly pleasant? We found Alexandros to be the best of the bunch and Luna Bar for a limited choice but freshly prepared at least. We still had a lovely time though and will go back. Hotel very close to shops and local supermarkets. Public transport is excellent in this area. Enjoyed the boat trips, weather was lovely, nice breeze on this coast. Too hot on the East Coast for us!

The hotel staff made every effort during our stay to help us with our needs and requirements. The hotel restaurant was well visited and the quality of the food was good. The beach nearby the hotel is a bit rocky with waves, and therefore is more suited for older kids. However - The hotel pool was ok, also for smaller children. All in all we had a very nice stay at the hotel and at Rhodos.

The Hotel is ideally placed. Just behind the restaurants & bars. Beach is a 2 minute walk away. Friendly Staff & the Coconut restaurant serve good evening meals & is the best English breakfast in Ixia.

I found the Caravel to be welcoming and warm, nothing was too much trouble, and my apartment was cleaned everyday. By the end of my holidays, the owners of the hotel, (neetsa and savos) had become firm friends and I look forward to seeing them next year. Thanks.

Family and friendly lodging in a touristic place in rodi.the seaside is not the best of rodi but it is suitable. rooms are large enough and beds are confortable. the bathroom must be refurbished
