Umay Hotel Istanbul is an hotel reconstructed as a 19th century Ottoman Mansion.
This boutique hotel is located in the centre of old city, just 600 meters from Sultanahmet Square, Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern.
From the cafeteria-terrace and most of the rooms guests will admire the Marmara sea and the Blue Mosque.
The hotel is within walking distance of the Grand Bazaar while the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, St. Shopia, Topkapı Palace and underground Cistern are just minutes away on foot.

We stayed for 4 nights and were very impressed with the hotel staff, in particular Fettah. He was very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. Umay is 500m from major sties (Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Aya Sofya) and the tram stop. The rooms were large. Umay is right near several mosques that ampliphied their call to prayer 5 times a day, starting at 6am, audible from the rooms. Breakfast was a buffet with vegies, fruit, yoghurt, bread, instant coffee/tea and juice.

Good small and affordable hotel. Very well located and with competent and kind employees. Be prepared for an early morning wake up because of the nearby mosque.

If You need an HOTEL in Sultanahment...THIS IS THE PLACE! But...are You sure that Sultanahmet is the right place to be...??? What about Istiklal Cadddesi???

Our room and bathroom were tiny, but the overall character of the place and the attentive manager won us over in the end. We enjoyed our stay here.

The hotel was hard to find in the old part of Istanbul and even taxi drivers found it hard to locate. However the hotel was clean and the staff were excellent and gave us lots of help and advice on where to go,what to see and the best way to get there,breakfast was a set menue and no other meals were available however tea and coffee was always on hand.

Very nice staff, more than helpful, although some staff members English was limited. But hey you´re in Turkey! Very clean, safe, decent breakfast spread, only approx 10 min walk to Blue Mosque. We were really happy with the hotel.
