Nice basic hotel. Clean rooms and good service. There are some kind of optical problems in the bathroom for example, but everything was clean.

We asked for a double bed. They gave us two single beds. A little management problem. If you want to go to Sautanamet, you need to know how to take a train (not tram); otherwise, you need to walk uphill which is very tiresome.

Internet works only on the first floor. Moderate price for the airport. Daily exchange sheets.

A good price/quality ratio for this hotel (39E), and rooms are clean and spacious enough. Main issue is the noise (for rooms directly on the street) : we've asked to change the room after first night. Surrounding is a popular area (good to know). I would stay again in this hotel

Questo hotel è situato in una zona abbastanza carina Kumkapi, in quanto la sera a due passi c'è una zona piena di ristoranti molto animata. Di per se l'hotel non è niente di speciale ma comunque è abbastanza pulito e il personale è cordiale.

Very competitive price vs. quality ratio!! Rooms were old fashioned but quit clean. No wifi. I liked very much the neighbourhood! Good location, basic breakfast. Good choice for a budget hotel!

Tayhan is a simple (and cheap) but kind hotel in a life quarter, a walk far to the center and to the most important sights. The breakfast as other services are simple but the staff is very kind and helpful. Attention that there is no internet connection: just a computer at the reception desk. Is not that comfortable if you have to reach the hotel with heavy luggage as the public transport is not that close, but taxi are quite cheap. Anyway a good location as is not noisy as center but enough close to it.

Tayhan is located in a popular area of Istanbul, and it is nice to be away from the fake ottoman hotels of Sultanahmet ! Also there are good and cheap lokantas in the area - not Kumkapi fish restaurants which are expensive. Hotel is Ok, rooms are large and air-cond efficient ; of course furniture and equipment are sometimes in bad condition, but who really cares ? Problem with the staff : they are unpleasant as they try to keep your passport, and that's illegal, or to ask for payment in advance ; lack of confidence in the relation with customer.

The first night the hotel give us a dirty room(very dirty room, they haven't change the towels and the sheets, and the bathroom was worst...)so in the morning we told that we would go away, the receptionist sad that they had another room, so after saw the room (this one seemed clean so we stay there). The next time in istanbul we won't for sure came again in this hotel.

4 issues regarding this hotel: 1. No wi-fi access and no internet at all except a single computer in the reception. 2. The hotel is very far away from tourist attractions. You have to climb a steep hill to reach the nearest tram station or walk for 25-30 minutes to reach the blue mosque area. 3. Although we stayed for 5 nights, they offered no free transport to airport. Almost all other hotels offer free transport if staying more than 3 nights. 4. The elevator stopped working sometimes. Other than that, the hotel in itself is really a good value: clean private large bathroom, moderate breakfast, clean air-conditioned room with TV and is not too small for a family of three.

The hotel was good and real value for money. At walkable from Sultanahmet. No complaints at all.

Although the hotel is located on a slightly run down street, it is just a 15 min walk from the Grand Bazaar and the tram station taking you all across the European side of Istanbul. The lobby was basic, and the room was very small. The view from the room was not too cool, but who the heck needs a view at this price? We had basic breakfast, a clean room, and a clean toilet. For budget tourists, that's all we wanted! For only USD 50 per night, it was just what we needed.
