Excellent hotel, well situated for key attractions. Rooms are very comfortable and the staff very attentive. This was our second stay at this hotel and it lived up to the very high standard of the first time.

We were a group of 2 grandparents with 3 grandchildren (15, 18, 19 years old). Breakfast on the terrace with the view to the Blue Moschee was outstanding. The most important sights are within easy reach by a short walk. The staff on the reception was very friendly and competent. We can really recommend the TAN-hotel

Enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast room with a view of the blue mosque was lovely and the staff were very friendly. My husband and I would go for our daily wine there and watch the sun set over the mosque. The lady who worked there was very nice and the hotel had a lovely feel about it. The only negative was our room was too small to comfortably fit an extra single bed for our daughter but would be spacious for a couple. We should have booked a suite but we would definitely stay here again. Istanbul is such an interesting city. The location of the hotel was great. Very near tram which was excellent but walking Istanbul is the only way to really see this city of contrasts.

As our first trip to Istanbul the first impression of the hotel was it was located in an old and conjested part of the city. However we were pleasantly surprised both by the quality of the hotel and amenities and the cosmopolitan environment where it was located. It was in easy walking distance to all main tourist sites and surrounded by restaurants and shops. It was also close to the light rail system for travel further afield. The staff were courteous and helpful and the facilities modern with an excellent rooftop outdoor eating area overlooking the Blue Mosque. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return if we were to visit Istanbul again.

We were very satifyed with this hotel. That also goes for our accompanying friends. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel is perfectly situated for visitors interested in the historical treasure Istanbul materializes. A must is also the Grand Bazaar, situated 500 mtrs from the hotel. A boat trip on the Bosporous is also highly recommended.

We stayed in the hotel with two more couples. Everybody was very contend. The showers however went from very hot to very cold within seconds; that really neeeds to be fixed! The roof garden as well as the breakfast served there were great. The area is perfect as starting point for all kinds of sightseeings. Hotel can clearly be recommended.

We (four people) stayed 4 days in July 2010 and Hotel Tan was everything we expected - central location convenient to all sights in Sultahnamet, efficient front desk service, good breakfast on rooftop and very decent rooms. First timers may be put off arriving at night as the entry is through dark quiet streets but have no fear - the hotel opens onto the main street in front with lots of wonderful restaurants. I'd stay at Hotel Tan again definitely.

Our experience in the Tan Hotel was excellent! The location is very close to the Metro Stop, only about 50 steps. It is also very close to the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. And it is a very reasonable walk to the Grand Bazaar. The staff is very friendly and capable. They arranged an airport transfer for us at 3:00 am at a reasonable price with no hitch. There is a breakfast served in the top floor with a good view. The fresh orange juice and omelet is very good. The rooms are clean albeit not with a very good view. You can go to the terrace for the view. We had four rooms and in two rooms, we experienced the hot water suddenly becoming cold while showering. Other than that, we had a lovely stay in the Tan Hotel. There are restaurants right beside the hotel that serve excellent Turkish food. We were there during Ramadan and there was a carnival atmosphere in the area between the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque at night. We definitely will stay at the Tan Hotel if we go back to Istanbul!

This was our first time to Istanbul, and so the first time we stayed at the Tan Hotel. Having nothing to compare it to in Istanbul, the hotel was spacious and clean. The rooms would get hot in summer, as the aircon was not very powerful, and leaving the windows open it did get quite noisy. But all in all a satisfactory stay.

The most important thing for us was the location of the hotel.it was just a few metres away from the tram, from Agia sofia, from Topcapi,Blue moscow, from everything. The staf was very friendly but the breakfast could be more rich.the view from the roof is great, the room was clean(we had a small jacuzzi in the bathroom, but we didn't ask for that, lucky us!) Also there were 2 laptops on the living room with free internet.

We stayed in Istanbul after a cruise. The hotel is excellent and the staff is very, very good. We had to leave for the airport at 6am and they provided a breakfast in our room at 5:15 which is before the normal breakfast time. Very, very accommodating. We would definitely stay there again.

It's an excellent hotel. clean and comfortable. But there was a little problem. I've made a reservation a triple room. But they said we should stay at a room with a big french bed and a sofa bed when we checked in. We couldn't accept. Fortunately, they gave us a spacious triple room anyway.

We booked two double rooms. On arrival they told us that one room had some problem with the toilet. They booked us a room in a near-by hotel. The next day the room was available. Unfortunately there was an unbearable smell of sigarette smoke in it. The rooms are spacious anyway and silent. The stairs and the floors are very very dark. Breakfast in the terrace is ok (nothing exceptional). Nice view from the terrace. The location is good but I would not stay in that hotel again.

Excellent location, withing walking distance to many touristic attractions or to the tram (Sultanahmet) station, while still in a quiet corner. Excellent breakfast, with plenty and diverse food, on a pleasant terrace overlooking the Marmara sea and the Blue Mosque. Helpful and friendly staff, clean premises and free Internet. The room (which is a bit small and crammed) could be improved with a better air-conditioning system (luckily the temperature in the days we were there wasn´t very high, otherwise the room would be too hot), and a better protection for the shower/bath-tub so as to avoid spilling water over the floor. Our safe deposit box was badly fixed on its surface, which got me a bit worried.

Staff were very friendly and accomodating. They organised a 4pm check out for us with no extra charge and were happy to assist in pointing us in the right direction when heading out and about. The roof terrace and bar was quiet when we arrived, but gave us a chance to splendour at the roof top view over to the blue mosque while quietly hving a beer before heading into the bustle of bars and restaraunts. We will definetley return to this hotel in Istanbul soon.

We were quoted a price of 99Euro per night per room (2 rooms)and were charged 198Euro per night for each room - DOUBLE the price quoted. Since we were in a rush to get to the airport for our flight to Kayseri we had to pay the high price. However, on the plus side the staff was very accommodating and the breakfast wonderful.

The Tan Hotel is excellently located in Sultanahmet, right beside all major attractions, but just 2 blocks back from all the noise, restaurants etc. perfect. THe rooms are new, clean and very well kept. Hotel staff are excellent - very friendly and helpful! Breakfast on the roof terrace is spectacular - especially if the weather is good.

We arrived very late (2:30am) and the receptionist was very nice and even carried our bags up the stairs. We had booked a double room but were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded to a suite. The location of this hotel is ideal to walk to most of the landmarks. This is a small hotel and they seem to take a lot of pride in it. It was a very pleasant stay and we would definitely stay there again. They also helped us with dinner places. The price was extremely reasonable also.

Nice place, rooms are modern and brand new. Perhaps they only need better organisation for the breakfast. P.S: I think the prices of the rooms are not more the same...The new web site of tan hotel offer new prices, now very expensive!
