Sunrise Hotel - Istanbul

The people managing the hotel are VERY nice. The hotel is well located as it is within walking distance from all the important monuments of the city.

Hotel quality is not bad and people are polite there. But, not as seen in the photograph. I had no meal there since I left hotel earlier than breakfast time.

The owner is one of these guys who want to cheat you whenever he can. No roomcleaning in three days, the worst dinner we ever had (dont eat in his "restaurant!) airport shuttle only one way, from the airport to he hotel. Be careful: The man is cheating you even when you pay the bill credit card. He makes out of Euros turkish Lira in a way that he is earning some more money.

The Sunrise is not really a hotel. It is a remodeled house - more like a pension. The stairway up to the rooms is a very narrow circular stairway with no handrail. The owners were putting in a rooftop terrace while we were there. The construction noise started at 9:00 and continued until 23:00. There was construction dust in the rooms and the stairwell which got on our clothes each time we used the stairs. The stairs also had construction materials on them, increasing the safety hazard. We were there in early April, so it was still cold at night and the heat was very poor. We ended up wearing our clothes to bed because it was so cold in the room. The room was not cleaned unless we specifically asked to have it cleaned and we also had to ask for soap, toilet tissue and clean towels. The beds were very uncomfortable.

They offer breakfast on the roof,and free transfer to the airport. The first one is not true, the free transfer is only at stays of more than 6 days. Easier and cheaper to rent a taxi, in that case you do not have to go around the city to pick other passangers and you have an own seat...
