Saruhan Hotel - Istanbul

THE BREAKFAST IS VERY POOR (AS COMPARED TO THE RICHNESS OF THE TURKISH CUISINE) AND CONSIST OF THE SAME ITEMS EVERY SINGLE MORNING. THE JUICE SERVED SUCKS AND THE COFFEE IS MADE OF INSTANT. HOWEVER, THE JAMS ARE QUITE TASTY BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT.

We really enjoyed our stay here; hotel was lovely; neighborhood was fascinating; only issue was room that looked out onto street was noisy because of late-night soccer games in the park across the street, but it was a really good deal for the price and the neighborhood. I would return.

A week

This was a great place to stay - very close to the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The location is brilliant, the only minor drawback (in hot weather) is the fact that because this part of Istanbul is hilly, getting to the above mentioned sights involves walking uphill. In cooler weather, this would be absolutely no problem. But I guess this is a "problem" that you would have everywhere. Very friendly staff, clean room with airconditioning, nice breakfast and great view from the breakfast terrace over the Sea of Marmara. We would stay there again!

The hotel is very nice, breakfasts are really nourishing and tasty, you can always try hand-made jam, with different pastries etc. There are a couple disadvantages, but there didn't spoil anything during our stay: 1) there is no lift (but as far as we understand it is going to be built), 2) there isn't any wardrobe in the room, that was funny to find out, so we kept our things in the suitcases and only our jackets and coats were hanged over the hangbar, that's all about drawbacks, actually, all the rest was just fine! You can always make yourself a hot cuppa tea or coffe downstairs, the staff are very polite and helpful, the location was good (a 10 minutes' walk to the Blue Mosque etc.) We liked Istanbul, we like the hotel - ah, and the view on the terrace is just wonderful! We really enjoyed having breakfast there, with the sea wind blowing and the spring sun shining in our eyes. We'd be really glad to come back! Enjoy your stay there, friends!

We stayed in the back room for 7 nights. The room was clean and spacious, and very quiet. We were hardly ever troubled by noise. However, because the room is in the back there was no wifi signal, so we could only connect to internet in the lobby and terrace. The room was a little bit cold, but they did provide the remote of the AC to make it warmer. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The location was very good, though for finding somewhere to eat you have to walk at least 10/15 minutes.

If you would like a simple, friendly hotel in a non-touristy part of Istanbul, this is the one for you. The staff were always happy to help with our many questions, lifts between hotel and airport, organising evening excursions etc. Our favourite part was the location, locals everywhere, it was great! We had a lovely time staying here!
