Pera Rose Hotel - Special Class - Istanbul

When we arrived we were given a smoking room with a small window over a court. I asked a changing room because the smell was strong and We don´t smoke. They took note of our request and they gave us a new room much better, bigger than the other and with wiews over de main street. In general good cleaning of the room ... The breakfast was good and varied. We didn´t use the facilities of the hotel because of lack of time.

I've stayed at the Pera Rose in Istanbul several times before and deliberately chose to go back on this trip. Location is excellent but the most outstanding feature for my comments about this trip is the outstanding service given by their staff. It was second to none!

Checking out I was asked whereto and how long I had phoned as the phone bill was a 1000 Euros.I told them I had two local calls lasting 5 minutes. Then they said it was a mistake of the system and I had to pay 5 TL. I didn´t find this funny.

The hotel was above my expectations. We ate in the hotel itself one night and the food was great and the price reasonable, although the selection of foods was not wide. We ate twice in other local restaurants, 1 french and 1 in a bookstore! Both excellent. Even in winter, with dreadful weather, the hotel was a lovely haven, in a great location. The wireless internet connections were sometimes unavailable, which was a bit frustrating - but not major counting the benefits of hotel as a whole. The staff were so helpful and friendly. If you use the new metro to get to Taksim square then be prepared to walk (down many escalators) almost as far as you would to walk the whole journey! (Joking of course, but not far off.) Using the public transport was much better, faster and cheaper than taxis. The TUNEL is one of 2 funiculars in the area and is about 100 meters from the hotel, taking you right down to the tram to cross to the old city. What a pity we didn't know about this the first 2 days of our 4 day stay, although taxis were inexpensive if you want to go off the beaten track. The tourist information office, just up from the Blue Mosque, is a brilliant place to go to find out what's on - and get free maps! I would definitely stay in this hotel again, it was amazingly inexpensive on our Venere deal.

Professional and friendly staff, certainly I'd go again to Pera Rose Hotel if I'll have another opportunity to visit Istanbul.

Super-location - 5 minutes from Istiklal Health-center is expensive for Istanbul

During our stay the building next door was being teared down, so that is why there was a lot of noise... not really the hotel's fault. However, one thing we did not like at all was that they cleaned the carpet on the second day of our stay, and did not dry it, resulting in a smell of dirty wet clothes that was very unpleasant.

The hotel is extremely well located considering both access to public transportation and being walking distance from the best restaurants area. In overall the hotel is good but there were aspects that frustrated me : 1) the staff speaks poor english so it was very hard to get help to go around and book restaurants. 2) I asked for a non-smoking room and despite that I got a smoking room - even if the receptionist insisted that it was a non-smoking room. After the first night that I barely manged to sleep because of the smell the same receptionist "confessed" that she had no other room available.

Nice place to stay, in general. Relatively inexpensive, clean, and centrally located. They should, however, fix the address on their website; it is incorrect and caused a bit of confusion. The water pressure was astounding.

The receptionist (female) was so friendly, thank you very much! Nice view over the bosporus!

Very convenient for shops and restaurants on Istiklal Caddesi yet fairly quiet because it is on a side street with not much traffic. About five minutes walk from the funicular which takes you down to the tram line linking many of the major sites. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Very nice place. Two min walk from Istikal str., main street of the new city. Close to synagogues (walking distance to at least three). Very tasty breakfast with enough choice for adults and children.

Perhaps we were lucky but we had a quite superb 7th floor room in this hotel with a stunning view across Beyoglu and the Golden Horn into the old town. We rarely get too excited by hotels but this was a sublime addition to our stay. The room was thoroughly modern, very spacious and well attended and the breakfast was excellent, with a lot of variety. The staff we spoke to were friendly and competent and the location of the hotel is excellent being only two steps from Tunel square and Istiklal Caddesi. An excellent choice and very good value.

Please put my ratings to Pera Tulip Boutique hotel instead of Pera rose Boutique Hotel. When we reached Pera rose Hotel we were told by the reception that there was a problem with AC in our room and we were transfered to Pera tulip boutique hotel. This Hotel was better and more expensive than Pera Rose Hotel (But we didn't pay any extra). The room given to us was very good, comfortable and everyting was new. It was a little bit small. The surroundings of the hotel is perfect. It is in a very good location for sight seing, shopping and entertainment. I strictly recomment this hotel for Istanbul travels.

Nice clean, tidy hotel with welcoming staff, happy to provide directions, advice, and book trips with hotel pick-up. Good breakfast. Handy position - short walk to the 'tunnel railway'(saves the hill to the tram stop by the bridge), and the main shopping street. Just a five minute walk to streets 'alive' at night with good restaurants and bars. Used the tram system to get around - over the bridge to the main sites - cheap and easy to use. Huge city, but friendly people, even though they all may wish to sell you a carpet!

Istanbul it’s a great city with lovely people. Everything it’s easy to enjoy. The best of Pera Rose Boutique Hotel is his location, near of a beautiful boulevard of coffees and shops in a district close to the historic places. Everyday in the morning you cross de Galata Bridge to see the most important sites, and then in the afternoon, you came back without the rest of the tourist.
