We had a lovely stay here. Only it's not in sultanahmed, but two tram stops from there. What I liked the most is that it's not a turistic area, so we could see real life there. worst part, there's a mosquee really near, 5.30 prayers wake you up. Ask for a room inside to have more silence.

European-style hotel with superb hot water supply. Fixtures are new. Nice and large safe in room. WI-FI works. Quiet with windows closed. Air conditioning works well (avoid dehumidification-only setting). Numerous fish restaurants within one block of the hotel. Four blocks to the water. Neighborhood is old as you would expect with narrow streets. Easy walk to the Sultanamhet attractions. Breakfast is quite fine and typical.

The May Hotel is a very good hotel with very friendly staff. There is a short way to some of the main sightseeings of Istanbul. On the same street the are some good fish restaurants. Also there ist a terrase on the top of the hotel building with a good look over the roofs of Istanbul.

I organized the trip to Istanbul for me and my friends with which we went to watch Basketball world championship. I must say I was worried if the Hotel will look the same as it does on the pictures, if it's in a good district, how will the personel treat us... I must say that this was ONE OF THE BEST EXPIRIANCES I HAD. The hotel was modern as in the pictures, the personell was kind and hospitality was TOP!!! The rooms are not big, but sufficient. If we wanted to hang out there was a terrace on the top of the billing which was excellen. They spoke perfect english, they were easy to communicate with and very friendly. Nothing was to much for them, and they went out of their way to make as feel at home. For example we needed ice and were asking them where to get it and one of the employees went out and brought it to us. I recommend this hotel to anyone. Families, young people,... EXCELLENT: Thank you for your hospitality once again!

wouldn't go back to this hotel, even though the staff members were very nice and helpful. taxi drivers couldn't find the hotel, so don't forget to print out map. we travelled with another couple and both our rooms weren't quite clean and both had problems with showers (must admit that everything had been resolved very quickly). the hotel is new, but bits and pices are falling apart, elevator wasn't working properly, we even got stuck once. location - not a turistic area, but full of caracter (and cats). Decent breakfast and helpful staff.

I have some difficulty of going this hotel from the tramway station. The hotel is placed in the way downhill. I arrived at airport at 10pm and arrived tramway station and reached at Hotel 12midnight on foot refer to the google map (5 minutes walk from the tramway station). At the hotel, I used the free WIFI access (the hotel man told me the WIFI password) and ate the very good breakfast. And there was the free roomshoes and the free toothbrush (I have never seen these amenities in the hotel of this class except Japan.) However, there was no bustub at my room. Considering the price, I think it's pretty nice hotel.

Location is close to the Grand Bazaar, but not an easy walk to the Blue Mosque, Ayasofia or the Topkapi Palace. It's close to the Beyazit tram stop, but beware that coming back from the tram station at night is down a series of dark unlit streets, which was a bit scary for us. The rooms were small but nice, although we had a problem with ants. Good breakfast spread and friendly staff.

The street is a bit noisy, so you have to close the window, if you want to sleep. There is air-conditioning, so it is manageable.

Great new hotel (only opened 2 months ago) in a lively part of Sultanahmet. Only 10 mins from the Grand Bazaar and also only 5 mins down to the river and a selection of fantastic bars and restaurants. The hotel is on a steep hill so not easily accessible if you are unfit. Would certainly stay again.

If you adventurous and intend to discover the real face of Istanbul, this is your place. May Hotel is 8-10 minutes walk from Grand Bazaar, 15-20 minutes from Ayasofia. Good for group activities. This is the area of the shoes and all kind of workshops for shoes. Cozy hotel, with a very helpful and pleasant staff.

Simply the best hotel ever. we arrived to a warm welcome from the day porter who offered us drinks and gave us a short introduction to the local area and street maps of Istanbul. Rooms were comfortable, clean and had everything you required. Wonderful buffet breakfast and the complimentary afternoon tea in the lounge became a ritual chatting with Manager Erol and his staff about our day and their recommendations for the next time. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and wanted to make your stay special. Thanks once again to Erol & all his staff. BERNARD/ERCI
