We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tulip house. We booked a budget room which meant we were in an attic room with a sky light window but this was not a problem for us. The only thing to consider is that the ceiling was quite low and so not suitable if you are tall. The rooms were quiet, cosy and clean. The bathroom was small but very clean. Located only a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, the hotel was located in a quiet backstreet that we always felt safe to walk even at night. Again especially if you have any issues with mobility, you need to take into account that the hotel has steep stairs and is located on a cobbled, sloping street. In our case this was not a problem, in fact we loved walking the narrow lanes finding the little jewels of the Sultanahmet away from the bigger tourist crowds. A special mention about the fabulous and extensive breakfast buffet ... A delicious spread of fruit, vegetables, eggs, cheese, meat, pastries and breads served by a lovely lady who worked very hard each day to prepare such a beautiful breakfast! All this sitting on a terrace looking out over the roof tops to the sea. Finally our strongest memory of the hotel is the fantastic staff! Everyone was so helpful and welcoming ... Ugur even came to meet us at the tram stop because we had been held up at the airport, it was after dark and we were unsure of finding our way! A big thank you to everyone. If we return to Istanbul, we will not hesitate to stay at the lovely Tulip House!

Had the budget room - can only justify it as budget because it we had to go up 4 floors without a lift, apart from that it was spacious and more than adequate. Excellent value for money, would stay there again.

The hotel is quite difficult to find if you arrive by metro and tram from the airport. The room we had on the top floor was very nice and had a beautiful view on Sultanahmet and the sea, but unfortunately the rooms are poorly soundproofed, so that you can hear the television in the beside room, people talking on the different floors. The staff is very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommandations, etc.

Although ideally located for all the major attractions, it was very difficult to find and some of the surrounding roads were very steep. Our room on the top floor was small but very clean, however there is no lift and the spiral staircase was very difficult to climb and not very safe. For older travellers and families with yound children the lower floors would be a more suitable option. This hotel is not suitable for people with mobility problems as you have to go up steep steps to access the property. The fire exit was through our room and a gate had been cut into the balcony to access the fire escape, however there was no latch on it and if you leaned on it it swung open. The rooms are cleaned late in the day and after a day of sightseeing we were suprised that on our return at approx 4pm that our room had not been cleaned, to be fair the second time this happened they did clean our room when we went out for dinner. The breakfast was good, typical Turkish breakfast with lots of fresh fruit, cheese, assorted breads, biscuts, tea coffee and juice, with no restrictions on how much you can have. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Warm welcome, very helpful and very friendly young staff. Very tidy. The stairs are steep but not too difficult to manage with moderate fitness. A cup of tea always possible. Great view from our balcony overlooking the sea front. Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi palace within easy walking distance.

Istanbul is absolutely phenomenal and the location of hotel is great (in the center of the old town, close to the tram station) as well as staff (charming and helpful). However, rooms are really small and the photographs from the site do not give such an impression. The view is great if you have a balcony and I suppose that the best rooms are 401 and 402.

Hotel Tulip House provided a central location to all the famous sites in Istanbul. The service was great and staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very good. You really got good value for the price. Be aware there is no elevator but staff was very helpful by bringing our lugguge to our room when we arrived and down when we left. If we go back to Istanbul we will definitely stay at the Tulip House again.

We had an absolutely marvellous time at Tulip House. The staff were very friendly and gave a very personal service. They organised activities for us and used their knowledge of Turkey to help us plan the rest of our trip. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The breakfast provided was top notch and sitting outside in the sun eating it every morning was fantastic!

We asked for airport pickup (euros20) but noone showed up, in the end we took a cab to the hotel which cost TL35 which turned out to be cheaper. We paid Euros45 for the room and got a suite, it's value for money. The room deco is luxurious and the hotel staff, Ali's service is top notch. My 2 friends came to meet me for breakfast and I asked how much I had to pay them, he said no problem. Very generous. The owner was also very kind, walked us out to Grand Bazaar from the hotel and told us how to get around. The hotel is very new and breakfast is pretty good. It's on a narrow street and distance to the Grand Bazaar is 10 mins by walking. Overall, we enjoyed our stay there. Good value for money.
