Hotel Topkapi Apartments - Istanbul

Our family opted for Apartment 4 (located on the 3rd floor) and we couldn't be more pleased with our choice. The apartment was charming and meticulously clean, with simple modern furnishings. Apart from a double bed for the parents, a comfortable double sofa bed was laid out in the living area for me. Curtains could be drawn to separate these two spaces for privacy. The kitchenette was equipped with all basic utensils, as well as a complimentary fruit basket and sachets of tea and coffee. I particularly like the built-in shower stall in the bathroom. There is ongoing construction (about 9am-5pm) next door, but it didn't bother us as we were out during the day anyway. Up a few steps and I'm on the rooftop terrace - I do most of my trip research here (Note: free wireless internet!). You would be surprised at the close proximity of the walls of the Hippodrome. A decent farmers type market is set up at the parking lot by the playground every Wednesdays, and the fruits/vegetables sold here are exceptionally fresh. We sent a separate request to the owner for an airport pick-up/drop-off service, and it was confirmed within a day. Yusuf and the housekeeper welcomed us upon our arrival, and they were both very friendly and helpful. I felt bad we had to rush off without taking a moment to thank them proper, so I hope this review will suffice. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Excellent place with very friendly and competent staff.

We stayed in apartment 2 on the ground floor.The apartment was new, beautifully presented and well equipped with attention to details like fruit basket,tea/coffee etc. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location is wonderful in walking distance to most attractions in old Istanbul and a local produce market on Wednesdays.Hamsa, Yusef and all their staff are exceptional.We enjoyed visiting them at Noahs Ark shop and found the advise and information given by Hamsa to be valuable. Yusef was a perfect host with meeting and departure arrangements and baggage storage. The brothers deserve congratulations on their venture and are great fun to be with as well.

Big deception with the "budget" bedroom (basement bedroom with 2 little windows at the level of the street and the cars). No view, noise, pollution... No possible to open the windows. Otherwise, above, they are 1 appatment by floor, clear with windows, (more expensive)... And a terrace on the roof. Very well located : it's nice to walk along the blue mosquee, or having a walk near the sea (at the sunset) to go back home. Clean and the owner has a shop downtown, easy to find in case of need.

The apartments are very conveniently situated to all the sultanahmet attractions; The staff very extremely friendly and helpful - the owner Yusuf even accompanied us to the grand bazaar and helped with some shopping. We had a small problem with my daughter locking us out of the room and the owner was very prompt in coming to help us. The rooms were very clean and we would certainly recommend this place to others. There is a small park next door and it was extremely useful as we had two little kids.
