It would be good if you could improve the view from the breakfast room in the vicinity of the hotel (roof area). I thought the hotel offered good value for money in its location. We enjoyed our stay. Very comfortable bed, lovely crisp fresh bed linen and nice bathroom.

Poor air circulation in the room. The hotel turns off all air conditioners during the "winter" months. I had to sleep with a wet towel on my face. The staff wasn't helpful at all. The rooms were a little beat up and the bedding was dingy. I will never recommend or stay at this hotel again.

The service provided by the staff was outstanding and extremely helpful. I arrived early at 8.30 am and was provided a double room straight away and offered breakfast. The lift did not work but I understood was being repaired. Apart from that everything was really good.

The Sude Konak hotel is very conveniently located near the main Istanbul attractions (Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia, etc.) and to the train station and ferry docks. The room was very nice, with view of Aya Sophia from the balcony and was very quiet (it was on the 5th floor). The reception was VERY helpful, breakfast was very good. Highly recommended!

I stayed in Istanbul for 7 nights for vacation with. The hotel has some really advantegous points such as location, cleanliness, quietness and staff. We arrived in the early morning when it wasn't expected to get our room at 7a.m We were offered breakfast which was a reach Turkish style breakfast buffet. By 8a.m our room was ready for us. The room was rather small for twin bedroom. Bath room was fine and spacious. The room was cleaned, sheets and pillow cases were changed and bath room was deep cleaned everyday without interruption, and that in itself was quiet impressive. The reception staff were friendly and did whatever in their capacity and knowledge to provide good information. Here i would like to thank the receptionist Turgut who was really helpful and kind. The location of the hotel was superb. Only 5 min. walking to Sultanahmet and Hagia Sofia, 5 min. walk to Sirkeci Railway station. But the excellent thing is, that there is Tramway station only 30 meters away from the hotel and can take you anywhere. The location was indeed excellent. Overall the hotel was very fine and i recommend it to those who want to have budget travel to Istanbul. And i will go back there again in future.

Desk service was v.good and staff were very helpful. Bathroom rather small with problem of no stoppers for hand basin and bath leading to waste of water and inconvenience of inability of having a bath i.e.only shower was available.

I will start with the good things - the hotel is very close to the most important monuments in Istanbul - a 5 minutes walk to the Topkapi Palace, and a 10 minutes walk to the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosk. The Great Bazar is not very far, and so are the Spice Bazar and the New Mosk. So that was great! Another good point at this hotel is the breakfast - nothing too impressive, or too much variation, but a good, decent breakfast (served from 7 to 10 a.m., which is another good point, for those who might want to sleep a little bit late). As for the not-so-pleasant stuff, our room was very very small (our friends had a room right next to us, and it was much larger), with a similarly small bathroom, and a very small window, which opened up to some kind of an enclosed yard (extremely small, again), so we couldn't open the window and have a little bit of fresh air. The front desk staff was not very kind and helpful, but acceptable. As for the cleaning ladies, we were rather disappointed. We had a bag of worn clothes (lingerie, T-shirts) that we accidentally left on the floor, and when we came back at night, the bag was gone. It turned out that the cleaning ladies thought it was a waste bag (!) and had thrown it away with the garbage. As you can imagine, we weren't very pleased with the situation. In the end, I think the hotel is a decent place, if you make sure to have a normal sized room, with a normal window. Oh, and also make sure not to leave any bags unattended on the floor! But the location is great and there are plenty of nice hotels in the same area. Another piece of advice I would share is that you shouldn't buy anything from the stores in front of the hotel, everything is quite expensive and you cand find the same stuff for half the price or less if you search a little bit. I especially recommend you the little shooping area in between the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosk (where the old racecourse used to be), where I've found very cheap and beau

The location of the hotel is ideal for the tourist. It is in the middle of the historic area with EVERYTHING within comfortable walking distance. The hotel is on a small but active street. Getting a taxi at the door is quite easy, but still the street is not that noisy. We stayed on the fifth floor. Our room had a balcony and we could see Aya Sofia clearly. The room is small. We were given a room with two twin beds. We moved them next to each other and they formed a bed larger than the typical double in the other rooms. But, still there was about one meter left on one side and at the foot of the bed. The bathroom is workable but small. Beakfast was served on the 1st floor in a reasonably comfortable area with plenty of space. Breakfast however lacked of any immagination. Same basic Middle Eastern breakfast (cheese, olives, jams, some cereals, etc.) every single day. On the last day, we ordered a couple of omletes (3 YTL each). They were reasonable. We had dinner once right across from the hotel at Maestro Restaurant. Good food. Good prices. You have to try the Apple Tea. It is wonderful.

The only thing that bothered me in this otherwise excellent hotel was the receptionist that checked us in. He was arrogant, talking on his cellphone the whole time, and he gave us a room with non-functioning air-con(knowingly or even on purpose i should think). I didn't bother to get his name. He clearly is not made for this kind of job. All the rest of the staff was highly professional and extremely pleasant. Another receptionist, who was more than nice, changed our room with no trouble the next morning. I recommend the roof restaurant, reasonably priced, cozy, good chef, great views, special regards for the waiter. free wireless I-net and free parking in front of the hotel was very handy. Great location for tourist atractions and night life. Great city. wonderful people.
