Hotel Sirkeci Konak - Sirkeci Group - Istanbul

This is a most pleasant, charming oriental boutique hotel at the best location in Istanbul, just behind the garden of the Sultan's palace. We were made very welcome, got upgraded to the best room and truly enjoyed the hospitality and friendliness of the staff. A place to fall in love with.

A small and nice hotel with friendly staff in a perfect location. Close to main sight-seeing locations, quiet street. 5 minutes by walk to Topkapi palace, Archeology Museum, Agia Sofia, Blue Moscue, Coliseum, Cistern Basilika. Tram station 1 minute by walk up the street. Train can bring you via Galat bridge to Dolma Bahche palace. The rooms are good and very clean, but a little bit small. We had free transfer from aiport, which was really very nice. Breakfast very ampful and various. Many small souvenir shops near the hotel down the street, but the location is very quiet. Overall impression: very good.

Sirkeci Konak was fantastic- warm, hospitable and professional. We also had incredible helpfulness from the staff with the 5 year old child who travelled with us and they even did babysitting and, spontaneously, bought him little gifts. I couldn't have asked for a better location and nicer introduction to Istanbul and the rooms were clean and on par with a normal 5-star luxury hotel I would stay in for a business trip.

Excellent hotel, excellent service. Staff very kind, everything very clean. The position is very good to visit the historical centre by walking and, with the tram station so near, is very easy to go everywhere.

A boutique hotel with about 50 rooms in a quiet street next to the wall of Gulhane Park so within easy walking distance of the main tourist attractions. The Gulhane tram stop is at the end of the street about 150 metres away. The hotel is very well managed with exceptional service and attention to detail. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is varied and of high quality. There are two restaurants, one specialising in fish, the other in Turkish Cuisine. The latter operates either on the roof when the weather permits or on the ground floor of the hotel. The food in both is carefully prepared and of good value, especially when compared to many of the more basic tourist restaurants in the area. The hotel also has a very small indoor pool, sauna and gym. All in all a very comfortable quiet place to stay and an oasis after the inevitable crowds and exertions of visiting the spectacular city that is Istanbul

Nice hotel. Was some confusion with information. Morning we arrived (Thursday) was last day that Grand Bazaar and Spice Market were open for next 4 days (Ramaden), however, we were not informed of this until 5 pm (they closed at 7pm), so we were unable to visit these two places, which was a big disappointment. Walls are paper thin in bathrooms, could hear neighbor clearly when they were showering or running water in sink. Some corners in room the wallpaper is peeling but rooms are very clean. The gym is outdated and not kept up on cleaniness. Had to wipe down treadmill before even stepped on as it looked like hadn't been cleaned in a very long time and the few pieces of equipment they have could use an update. Turkish bath, sauna and pool were nice after long day of walking. With a few minor exceptions, this is a nice hotel. Has a nice selection of items for breakfast and afternoon (4-6pm) light snack and tea. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Great location in Old Istanbul with metro not even 1 minute away.

The room we had was a bit on the small side and as the hotel was full we couldn't upgrade to a bigger room. However it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful. Any problem we had was solved and they made sure every day that all was well. They helped us with sites to see, which were better than others etc. The staff in the restaurants were very friendly and the food was lovely and very nicely presented. We looked forward to the very good breakfast each morning. Apart from the staff, we met mostly English people at the hotel.

Le personnel est tres amical et serviable. le petit-déjeuner est superieur à ce qu'on peut trouver en France dans un 3 etoiles...Mais de grâce n'en faites pas un hôtel de charme...j'ai eu droit à une chambre miniscule avec un plafond qui doit faire moins de 2m... Le decor de l'hôtel manque de gôut c'est hyper kitsch; rien qu'à voir ces plantes grimpantes en plastic sur des rideaux synthétiques... ne vous fiez pas à la photo affichée par l'hôtel de la "suite"... Et puis aucun taxi ne trouvait l'endroit... enfin c'est hyper cher 180 Euros pour ce taudis de chambre!!! j'aimerai bien comprendre comment cet hôtel a été selectioné comme le meilleur de Turquie par vos internautes... c'est un grand mystere

Sirkeci Konak was a wonderful stay during our nearly 3 weeks in Turkey. We spent 3 nights here in early May, 2009, at the end of our travels in the country. We really enjoyed the friendliness and helpfulness of the Turkish people generally throughout the country, and the staff at Sirkeci Konak certainly continued that experience. Our taxi driver from the airport managed to offload us about 500 metres from the hotel and so we had to trundle our suitcases through the Sultanamet district, a little disgruntled. But on arrival, the reception staff did their all to welcome us, even though our room was not quite ready - welcome drink in the lobby lounge, helpful advice about what to see and where to go in Istanbul. Our room was a lot better than the photos on the website, even though it was the standard double - a big king bed, view over Topkapi Gardens, plenty of space and a really good bathroom. Breakfast was substantial with plenty of cereals, fruits, yogurts, hot foods and cheeses, the best we had in Turkey. Free internet access was a nice touch as was complimentary high tea in the late afternoon -sandwiches and Turkish tea. Late checkout was no problems, our transfer to the airport arranged and on departure we were asked whether we enjoyed our stay and whether the hotel could improve in any area. Now that is a rarity. Well done, Sirkeci Konak.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sirkeci Konak hotel. We felt very welcoming from the first moment. The staff was very friendly and were always there to help or to answere our questions. My husbands birtday was celebrated in the lobby with cake and a present! I tell all my friends that if they go to Istanbul I will recommand Sirkeci Konak Hotel for them. The location was exellent! Nice room, two good restaurants and the spa! If I go back to Istanbul I will stay at this hotel!

We asked for and received a larger room than the tiny one (double) offered on internet booking. Wonderful bed and beautifully decorated room. Ample and varied breakfast. Location is just down the hill from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Basilica Cistern. Taxi drivers have trouble finding it, but once there, service is outstanding. Free internet and afternoon tea.

Lovely hotel, Restaurant a little basic given how great everything else was- Would defintely recommend massage!

A lovely classy hotel with beautiful rooms, an excellent shower and very filling and varied breakfasts. The staff were kind and attentive. Not too close to many restaurants - the ones nearby were quite touristy but it is a short trip to teh Taksim area.
