I travel to Istanbul 5 to 6 times a year. This time I wanted to spend as few money as possible for sleeping. And I found Sen Palas Hotel. You do get value for money. The price is low, but you get wehat you are promised and much more. The room is small but very clean bathroom newly renovated, heat and Wifi and TV in the room. Breakfast is no buffet but a plate and you get all you need. The staff are the must kindly people and the are taking good care of you. I loved the place and i will be back againg. REMEMBER THE PRICE !

I had a bad experience at Sen Palas. As soon as I arrived, they didn't have a map of the city, which is quite odd.The spaces are really small, especially the lift and the room, the smallest I've ever been in (considering also several hostels).Except for the cleanliness of the room (the also gave new towels every day),and the wi-fi connection (which did work),I do not have good remarks.Breakfast is poor, the rooms noisy (especially on Friday and Saturday night, but also the other days the guests of our floor were very noisy and unrespectfu),the location is good if you like walking;but the worst is that some members of the staff do not speak English at all,and it was frustrating. One day, after 15 hours we were off,we came back and the shower was broken. The guy at the reception came in the room but could not fix it;he said "tomorrow".You can imagine how you feel after one day and one night without the possibility of a shower. The following morning, when we went downstairs, the same guy was there, and he said something which I understood as "there's another hotel nearby where you can have shower",but of course he couldn't speak English,so after having grabbed all our things in 2 bagpacks,we came back and he was puzzled,he showed the clock and indicated the 12.We should have waited until midday, and I had misunderstood completely!I got mad,and I said we did not want to wait,as it was our last day,and we wanted to have shower,so he took a tool (a screwdriver, maybe)and he came upstairs. Can you believe it?He fixed the shower (or the thing they call this way,but in fact it's not a proper shower,as you wash with your feet on the floor)in a few seconds.I was astonished:why didn't he do that the previous night?Or earlier in the morning? Finally, when he went away,he was annoyed and did not say anything. He was annoyed? What should have we been, then? Is not a guest's right to have a shower? And,what's more,if the staff of a hotel does not speak any English, how can you solve your problems?

If you are looking for a place to sleep that isn't too pricey then this is it. I stayed 3 nights. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They even cleaned my room and gave me fresh towels during my 3-day stay - rare in Turkey for what I paid. I'd stay here again. But a word of warning the single rooms are dark and small. Great for sleeping but don't expect to luxuriate in the room. Very basic but worth the price. Breakfast is okay.

the room was dark and tiny. reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. the room was only serviced as i insisted. after this dubious service, i was confronted with the sight of used sheets and towels simply thrown onto my luggage - i suppose owing to the lacking routine of the person servicing my room. internal noise, as the hotel staff was carrying furniture (?!) up and down the stairwell early in the morning. all in all: quite disappointing!

Şen Palas is a nice hotel with clean rooms. The personnel is ready to provide help whenever needed and the breakfast is good. I'd prefer this hotel if I'll visit Istanbul once again because the location and everything seems very appropriate to me.

The single bed i booked has more than enough space for me. I'm glad i didn't listen to bad feedback and pay much attention to that picture(single room) posted in their website. My room was far better than that. Breakfast wasn't realy that great, TV and Fridge don't work. But for the price and excellent location(Taksim), it was well worth it.

The room I got was so small and dark (also daytime) that I felt as if I was in a prison. I had no idea that so small hotel rooms do exist. No chair or table (there would not have been any space for such things); if I had had a big suitcase I could not have opened it on the floor. Although it was very cold in the room, the heating was not on (except for some hours one of the four days). Only Turkish chanels on TV. If you need a room just to sleep it could be OK (if it's warm outside), but I would not recommend you to book this hotel on the Internet, since you will not be allowed to change your hotel (in case the room is darker, smaller and/or colder than you can cope with). Another alternative would be to book for only one night to start with.

If you need a single room in the beautiful area of Beyoglu, the Hotel is very ok for the price; people doesn't speak English, but they understand what you need and are very kindly. Very small room, no light on the bedside table and no light-switch near the bed. Shower good, room old but clean. Noisy area. Overall good for the price. Very poor breakfast, but fresh bread.

The hotel is really fine if you just want to sleep in one of THE BEST places in Istanbul - BEYOGLU and TAKSIM. It is really not expensive; The guys on the reception don't speak great English, but you can get the main information that you need about the city, parking, etc. For 2 nights we slept a couple of ours... 'cause partying alllll the time :)))) It is really for people who don't care about noise (it is the most animated part of the city) and who want to really know Istanbul's nightlife.
