My friend and I stayed 3 nights. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast delightful. the views from the terrace were outstanding. just minutes away, walking to everything you wanted to see. Restraunts, shopping, curvy little alleys all right there. Free internet to email and get your boarding passes. Staff arranged the airport shuttle. Was very much like going to a friends house rather than a hotel. we loved it. thanks for such a good time.

I found the day time manager and his assistant astonishingly rude the first couple of days i stayed there, it was really a shock. Some improvement over the longer stay, but certainly not warm or poetic, and generally impatient and irritable, asking for info it was clear you were annoying them and taking their time away from "work." It was truly hard to understand, and enough to make me never return. Again there was some improvement after a week, but still no excuse The room was noisy from the street and the interior hallway, and then there were the ongoing parties in the nieghboorhood that kept me from sleeping much at all the last two nights. The view of the sea is minimal, and the garden in the back on the web site no longer exists due to some storms or something; it is now a garbage dump full of garbage and construction debris, not too pleasant if you want to sit on the patio for a tea. The bed was uneven and the air conditioner quite old and with a weak fan and it took quite an effort to get a remote that worked, and then still only one that worked with special efforts (there is no way to operate it manually). On the plus side, it does have an overall warm feel to it architecturally, in spite of the above issues, the night staff was nice, the food servers very good, the breakfast very good, and the shower bath was forceful and hot. But i would seek out another hotel in future and in a different neighborhood, too.

I loved this hotel and the entire staff. I rated the photos on the web page not at excellent only because they do not show how great this hotel is. The breakfast included was excellent, the staff went out of their way. My friends who stayed here years ago recommended the hotel to me and I recommend this to absolutely anybody visiting Istanbul.

The published views from the terrace did not materialise, because of the large trees. It was very difficult to find from the map on the website.

Excellent location if you want to be in the heart of Sultanahmet. Very clean hotel. Friendly staff. We used this hotel as the first and last stop on a backpacking trip around Turkey. Compared with other hotels/ guesthouses on our trip, Hotel Poem did not offer the best value for money - but this is the tourist heart of Istanbul! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

For me, the Hotel Poem turned out to have been a lucky choice. My room was quiet and I slept well (not usually the case in the middle of a city), and there was a good view out over the Bosphorus. Breakfast (out on the terrace) was excellent, especially the tea. When I return to Istanbul next year, I mean to stay at this hotel again.

Great location, very close to all the sights. Our room was very small and the bathroom was tiny but the beds (we booked a double room & got a twin room) were comfy. Tried to email for airport pick up but to no avail either.

Rooms were small, no TV in. Otherwise, perfect location, excellent for car travellers, within historic sights, nice view of the Marmara sea.
