We loved the Hotel Nena. Couldn't have had better accommodations. The breakfast on the Terrace was always great. We had dinner one evening and were disappointed as we were the only dinner guests .The ambience was very nice too bad more guests didn't take advantage of it. The hotel is within walking distance of spectacular sightseeing. Minutes from the Blue Mosque and close to the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. Would go back in a minute. Thanks, especially to Arturo who was very helpful.

We booked through Venere.com and we got a really good rate. The rate quoted on their web page (120 EUR) is a bit too high for the quality. The room was old and definitely required renovation. It was also a bit dark (the light was insufficient to read in the evenings). On the good side, it was really clean, location is superb, our room (401 and the neigbouring 402) had a stunning view on Blue Mosque and Marmara Sea and breakfast was excellent. It is served in the roof restaurant with great view. There is a lift, so no problem with carrying luggage upstairs. WiFi is free and works well. I would stay there again if I were to come back to Istanbul soon.

Excellent hotel in every respect: staff professionalism and politeness, room, price value, location (10 minute walk to either Blue Mosque or Aya Sofia, and 5 minute walk to tram stop that can take you anywhere in the city). Highly recommended.

Hotel is right in the center. View from terrace is marvellous. Is a pleasure have breakfast, for view and for food variety. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are little bit small, but cleaned and confortables. And on holidays rooms are just for sleeping.

The Hotel Nena is a beautiful boutique hotel located conveniently in the Sultanahment, walking distance to all the major attractions (Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Yerbetan Cisterns, Topkapi etc.). The rooftop dining terrace is spectacular in the evening, with a straight line of sight to the Blue Mosque. The staff are wonderful and attentive, the rooms clean and well kept, and the glassed in "sun room/sitting room" in the common area of the downstairs lobby is charming.

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is very close to the major attractions and good restaurants and the staff was very helpful with directions and information. The room was adquate size but small, old-fashioned TV, and the hair dryers do not work at all(everyone at breakfast had wet hair). Lighting in the room and bathroom was very poor and bathroom was not the cleanest and no tissues. Breakfast was interesting in variety of foods. Incredible view from rooftop terrace.

The standard room was too small. The cleaners did not replenish soaps, shampoos or hand towels every day of our 5 night stay. Breakfast was adequate but ingredients were the same each day. We would have liked a little variety. Roof top renovations was our wake up call even on Sunday. Our biggest beef was the airport transfer. We were picked up free as "honored guests" but had to pay to go back to the airport. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The manager stayed in his office. We won't stay there again because of the breakfast, small rooms and airport transfer polcy.

Centered in the old district, Istanbul, offering excellent access to any spots you might be interested in. Breakfast at the top floor restaurant of the hotel gives you splendid view of the district, which we really enjoyed.

The hotel was pretty much exactly what I expected on the basis of the information I found in the internet. The location was even better than I expected. I think that the hotel caters to tourists who want a good room for a reasonable price in the vicinity of major tourist attractions, that is, guests who need not indulge in expensive luxury.

Our first time in Istanbul. The room during our first stay was wonderful, although a bit small. We had a small balcony overlooking the street. The atrium on the main level was a nice place to spend reading. Availability of the internet was a bonus. The view from the balcony at the restaurant on the top floor was stunning making mealtime a great experience.

The pluses: fantastic location, very friendly staff, spectacular views in breakfast room, clean. The minuses: walls are very thin, construction took place at 3:30am 2 mornings and another morning a guest set off the smoke alarm at 4:30am on our floor when they smoked in their room; amenities in room are very rudimentary -- hose hairdryer, small, plastic shower, phone is still "dial"

The hotel Nena is located just in the middle of the historical part of Istambul. You can visit the most important places in an easy walk. The breakfast is an a wonderful place on the top of the hotel, which looks on Blue Moshee and Hagia Sophia with the Bosporus. This is not to forget!

EXCELENTE

We paid extra for a larger room with an impressive view at the front of the hotel - this was worth it as I think some of the rooms are quite small with restricted views. The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. There is a wide choice of food for breakfast. The hotel is in a superb position for visiting the major sights on the old town

Hotel Nena was great. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Absolutely great location, 5 minute walk to Blue Mosque and Agia Sophia, less than 10 mins to the Grand Bazaar and two tram stops within 3 minutes walk. The room was not big, but very comfortable, no view from the room, but a great view from the breakfast terrace. I couldn't get a wifi signal in the room as described on venere.com, but I didn't lose any sleep over that. Would definitely recomment Nena to anyone coming to Istanbul.

There was no problem with collecting me from airport -at 6:00am ! but I was staying more than 3 days and I understood that the taxi service was provide free by the hotel. It wasn't, because I hadn't booked directly with the hotel. I think the advert needs amending. The staff seemed a little cold to start but by the end of the stay were friendly and very helpful. My room was compact, and very little space for luggage but was clean. The ensuit bathroom though small, was clean and modern. There are security cameras on evry floor which seem a bit obtrusive, but good if you're worried about intruders. The Breakfast room is at the top of the hotel and has one of the best views I've had in an hotel, and I've stayed in a lot - a complete panorama of Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosques and out over the roof tops to the Golden Horn and Bosphoros. Sensational! Breakfast food was equally wonderful a full international selection for just about everyone's tastes, and which puts some of the more expensive hotels to shame. I can't praise it enough, and the breakfast staff. Very conveniently situated great value for money, I'll be happy to stay again, and recomend it.

Hotel Nena has an excellent location and it is a pretty good boutique-type place. They met my expectations, based on previous people feedback on the Web. Would higly recommend it! The only (slifghtly) unpleasant experience was that I was asked to pay for their "free" trasportation service to the airport, provided you stay 3 nights. They backed off when I showed them the printout, reminded them that I am staying 3 nights and also told them that this was confirmed when I arrived. Well, not all things are perfect in life. However, if you want to be in the middle of the "touristy" Istanbul, this is a perfect spot. Indeed spit distance from the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Capali Carsi, Cemerlitas Hamam, the Cystern. The top flor with the view of the surroundings is fantastic (go for it!). Highly recommended overall.

We loved the Nena and hope to return to Istanbul next fall. We were in Istanbul in May of 2007 and loved it all. The hotel Nena has the best location, wonderful staff, great food, beautiful view of the Blue Mosque from the dining room terrace, it has it all. The rooms are small but immaculate and charming. We want to stay at the Nena next fall as it was the best of the best!

The Hotel is located in a very convenient position, very close to the hystorical side of Instanbul, just awalk to Aya Sofia, Blu Moschee and Gran Bazar . At the same time the hotel is very quiet. Beautiful view of Istanbul from the terrace of the Hotel, expecially in the evening. The price is in line with the quality of the Hotel; a lot of support and suggestion from staff (the transportation from airport to the Hotel has been organized by them). We can reccomend Nena Hotel to everybody wants to visit Istanbul

We had a superb stay at this lovely hotel in the old part of Istanbul. The hotel was quiet during January but the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful especially arranging our airport transfers. The rooms were an ok size and equipped well with a clean bathroom. Breakfast was good and lots to choose from and the highlight is the amazing view of the Blue Mosque and Agia Sophia from the breakfast/restuarant terrace!!! Its is in easy walking distance to all the major tourist sites and I would definately recommend it to others.

Wonderful roof terrace and breakfast restaurant. Wonderful greenhouse lounge and generally a nice staff. BUT: I had asked for a quiet room - and was given a room that faced a ventilation tunnel with ventilation noise and no daylight. It was claustrofobic and I could not get another room before next day. No price refund for that. The room I got then was fine. At departure, I ordered a taxi for the airport and was sent out with the hotel car. Fine enough, but the price was appr. 10 New T Lira too high: From the other side of the Golden Horn a taxi for the airport costs 20 New T Lira, the hotel wanted 25, though the distance by comparison ought to cost 15 New T Lira.

Nice, not too big hotel, situated in Sultanahmet. It is on short walking distance of all important places of interest. Kind employees, daily clean linen/bath towels and room maintenance. Good beds. From the restaurant on the top floor you have a great view at the Bosporus, the Ayah Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Breakfast buffet is good enough. What I missed was a bit of luxury on the room. It was all sufficient but minimal, nothing extras, like tourist information, city map, glass drinking water, paper, pen, electric kettle, toiletarticles, etc.

Great location, pleasant welcoming, however, frequent confusions about the cc payment possibilities for the extra services (excursions, transfer to airport, etc.). Badly supervised housekeeping: bedsheets were not changed once during our 5-night stay!!! The complaints on the eve of the fifth night were met with "we are terribly sorry" but no compensation was offered.

The front desk staff claimed not to have my reservation upon arrival, but after I produced a copy of my confirmation from Venere.com they quickly found a room for me. I was put in a room overlooking the street, so it was a little loud, but I also enjoyed the view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Recommended a good restuarant nearby and also were available for my 3AM wake up call and check out. Great location, great price. All in all, I'd stay there again.
