Hotel My Home - Istanbul

The hotel has a very good location, i.e. in a walking distance from the main attractions. The room (No. 402)was spacious and clean, we felt comfortable staying here. The lift was out of order that time, so climbing up to the 4th floor was a small annoyance during our stay. But free wifi is available in the hotel. The staff is really very kind and helpful.

Location on map is completly wrong, therefore very hard to find. When you are there the location is good, the roof teracce is gret, but no elevator, therefore lots of stairs... Overall for the price we paid we were happy with the hotel and its service. However, next time I probably would stay in another area e.g Beyoglu, closer to many nice restaurants.

The room and the bathroom was really small - really Istanbul-style - but clean and tidy. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent.

The hotel is in a good location, unfortunately the street is small and a little bit dirty (not their fault), but just a few blocks walking from the touristic places. Clean, nice personal, good breakfast. For the price it is a good choice. I recomend it.

Having a good hot shower was a major problem of this hotel during our 5-day stay in January(very cold weather). Water was not hot, it ran very slow and even stopped from time to time! We made complaints but the problem was never fixed. Secondly, the price we paid for our hotel stay was inclusive of daily breakfast, however, the breakfast was stopped on our 3rd day of stay. We were never explained by the staffs about this although we didn't bother to ask. This gave us a bad image of the hotel services. Lastly, the level of the housekeeping service was a bit sub-standard. The floors were dusty and bed were not made nicely. We were actually given a single size blanket for a double size bed! In all, although the price may be reasonable but we feel the quality and location of the hotel does not really match the price tag.

The hotel is new, and the rooms are nice and clean, although there was an unpleasent smell in the bathroom in the room I stayed, probably due to bad plumbing and a hunmidity problem. But when I complained about it, I did get an air freshener, which helped a great deal. The location is very central, the price is cheap for what you get, the management is friendly. There are cheap and good restaurants very close, the hotel also has a nice bar/cafe where a nice breakfast buffet is served. And the rooms of the backside has really stunning views of the sea with the mosques in the foreground.

Quite a pleasant surprise this little hotel (without any reviews by the time of our reservation), situated 10 minutes on foot from the Blue Mosque! The stuff was extremely kind and helpful, the room was very clean and the view from the roof terrace to the Marmara Sea great! Breakfast is OK too. The hotel had a little parking in front of it and the neighbourhood was safe. Also the price seemed good for what you get. The hotel was a little bit difficult to find, but that is not a real problem. We will come back here next time we'll be in Istanbul!

“MY HOME STA” is good “value for money” hotel of Istanbul. Isa and his people are efficient, friendly and helpful. They run a decent establishment with all the basic amenities and at a very nice price. There is no lift but the view from the 5th floor roof terrace is fantastic and the rooms are equipped and serviced very well. Although it is not situated quite at the heart of the Sultanahmet district, as the map shown here would have it, however this hotel lies within a comfortable walking distance from all major sites of tourist interest in the most historical quarter of the old city. It is also close enough to shops, restaurants, the grand bazaar and to the public transport junctions. I should add that the guests in any hotel ought to behave themselves and, also, not to blame the hotel management for problems not related to the accommodation itself. A final note: BEWARE OF TAXI DRIVERS; THEY ARE OUT TO GET THE MOST THEY CAN FROM YOU!
