The hotel has an excellent location in the old city. The main attractions such as Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Grand Bazaar are within walking distance. Besides, going to the nearest tram stop only takes few minutes. I could get to the other parts of the city very easily. I enjoyed the view (day and night)on the rooftop terrace very much. The staff of the hotel are friendly and helpful. However, the bathroom is a bit small and there is no lift.

This is as a 1 star, max 2 star, hotel, not three as advertised. Pros: The hotel is in a great, central location and the top (5th) floor, where you eat breakfast, has an amazing view of the Blue Mosque. The breakfast was very good. You get a large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, very nice bread, free tea, eggs and other, such as olives, jam, honey, butter, etc. I think it gives you exactly the taste of the Mediterranean and fills you up very healthily for the morning. The staff were very helpful when I emailed them with questions about getting to the hotel and payments. Cons: The service at the hotel was very poor. The first day we got back around 22h to find the light on in our room and it was obvious someone had been there, because some of our belongings were moved. That really scared us, because there was no reason why the cleaning staff should have come to our room, since we just arrived! And, even if it was cleaning staff, they didn't even clean anything! Then for the rest of our stay here the cleaning staff never came to our room! The garbage was never taken out, the sheets were never changed and we had to ask the receptionists for extra toilet paper rolls, which were never re-supplied! We complained to the reception staff about this every day but the cleaners never came to our room! Additionally, the room and bathroom were tiny. My boyfriend is 6'1" and he had to use the toilet with the door open, because he couldn't fit in! Not to mention there are still signs of mould on the walls, especially in the bathroom and the shower could have been much cleaner. Overall I would say that if you're travelling on a budget, but still want a good location, this place would work for you. Expect small rooms, non-efficient service, but a good breakfast and great location for sight-seeing and night-life.

My room was small and ıt was a 4th floor walkup. The breakfast room was a 7th floor walkup. Some of the wallpaper was comıng off..the curtaıns and all else was shabby. There was only 1 lıght and ıt was on the end of the room opposıte where one mıght read. The staff consısted of 6 or 7 brothers and ıf you complaıned about anythıng you were always referred to another brother. They dıdn,t gıve me a wake up call on the day of my tour and so I mıssed the tour. I asked them to rebook me for the next day and they said they couldn,t. The cost of the tour was 90USD. Then they said they could do it if I paıd another 30Euros. Fınally one of the brothers told them to rebook me. The breakfast was most mınımal. I couldn,t get out of there fast enough!

I arrived early at the hotel. There was not available rooms and the staff was still sleepy. I had to wait. We went for a walk. We sat in the evening when we got back. Our suitcases were piled near the front door. Anyone passing by prodding them there. They sat me and my mother in a room on the first floor. The room had no window, there was no light. The room was hot and could not breathe. There was air conditioning, but it was not comfortable. Outside could be heard all night how the engines roar of air conditioners from other rooms. The bed took up the whole room and no room for foot traffic. The bathroom door is almost rested in bed. Here I saw the most - the narrow room in my life, along with a toilet in it. The place of the hotel was really good near to all tourist attractions and hystorical sights in Istanbul. Although I won't come back in this hotel.

When in Istanbul, check Mitanni hotel. The location is great (right next to the Blue Mosque and many other historic sites). Staff is great and very, very helpful. Breakfast does not offer huge variety but will give you enough energy for the long day of exploring Istanbul. I wish they had a Turkish coffee instead of instant. Overall, great experience with this hotel. On our next trip to Istanbul we'll be back at this place.

The staff of this hotel are very kind and helpful for their customers specially Mr.Cetin Onen, Riduon Ucak and her sister Ayse. They are supporting and helping us until the last day of our departure. I would like to express our sincere gratitude for them and hoping to see them again next time we visit istanbul. I recommend to other tourist who wants to visit istanbul to see not only the hotel but also the people that you can trust and rely on like the staff who are working in Hotel Mitanni.

Location is excellent and this was the most important for us. Room small, furniture very basic, cleanliness acceptable, staff friendly. Breakfast very basic, OK for me, but children complained a bit. Nice view from the roof terrace. So: the hotel is very basic, below western standards but Istanbul is full of tourists and I guess it is difficult to get anything better for this price at such location.

we were a group and had several rooms (2-3-4 beds) but all rooms were absolutely too small and ridiculous and bath as well! no place for clothing, no cleaning (only 1 in 3 days!!) and no public areas! we would never suggest this "hotel" to an enemy too!! the only great quality: good located near the most important buildings.

The hotel has an excellent location with attractions like the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia and Grand Bazaar within walking distance. This was important for us since we did not have much time to spend in the city. Our room was not very big but the facilities are nice with a comfortable bed, a hot shower and free wifi. The view on the rooftop where we had buffet breakfast is lovely.

I like the perfect location of the hotel. It is within walking distance to main tourist attractions in the old city. The tramway is also not far away. My room is spacious with a comfortable bed and a good shower. These are important for me after a day out in the city.

We had a nice stay at Hotel Dogu Expres. The staff are friendly and helpful. We like the location of the hotel very much. It is so convenient for us to explore the city. We walked to most of the tourist attractıons. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast on the rooftop terrace where we could have a good view of the Blue Mosque and the sea. Though there is no lift, it is not a big problem. We did not mind going up all the stairs(good exercise for us anyway)! Our room was not large but it was clean and comfortable with adequate facilities.

We like the wonderful location of the hotel. It is so close to the popular tourist attractions in Old Istanbul and the tramway is not far, so going to other places is also very convenient. The staff here are polite, friendly and helpful. They solved our problem quickly. We enjoyed the breakfast with a good view on the rooftop terrace. Our room though not very large was comfortable with adequate facilities. The room rate is reasonable. We will stay here longer next time.

The hotel location is excellent and close to almost all tourists attractions in the old city (sultanahmet). The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean with mini-bar. However, the family room i reserved was small and we had difficulty moving in the room. There is no lift in the hotel, nevertheless, this is not be an issue if you go back to the hotel once daily.
