Hotel El Blanco - Istanbul

A boutique accommodation full of fresh country characteristics. This was one of the most enjoyable stays. With-out an elevator, the circular stair was a great change. District could not have been better for walking or catching a tram to all major exhibits & shopping. Excellent restaurants, with the hotel to soon open its own evening menu. You will love the morning call to breakfast and the sounds of the pelicans knowing you are close to the harbor. Directions and tours the very best. Management and staff always there to help. Friendly and accommodating, honest and trustworthy. Unless you prefer to be at the Ritz, make this a stop you will never forget. We will be back.

Location can't be beat. Rooms were clean, adequately large, with good showers, hot water. Staff was helpful with shuttle to airport. Breakfasts were terrific, although, because of the cold weather, we did not experience the roof terrace. We would recommend this hotel to anyone except those who are used to very high-end accommodations.

The room was fresh painted and the air was moisty. The cleaning personnel did'nt speak english. Overall, was a nice experience, I'd come back. Car parking was a problem, i had to circle every evening for 30 min. to find a parking place, a bit far (300-400m) from the hotel.

This hotel is just 2 mins walk from the Blue Mosque (though it is uphill!) so it is right in the tourist part of the old town. This hotel is why I always prefer local privately owned accommodation: it was full of character, attentive but not in your face staff and a very wide breakfast buffet spread. Probably the best value for money place I've ever stayed and will definitely stay there again when/if I return to Istanbul.
