The Daphne Hotel Istanbul is located on top of a hill, between the city centre and the seaside of Istanbul, close to all the main historical attractions and the beautiful seaside. The Daphne is quite a good 3 star hotel in a convenient position. It was unfortunate that at the time of our stay (late September 2008) there was building excavations adjacent to the hotel, and the site worked noisily from 10pm to midnight each day. Not the hotel's fault but a negative until the construction is finished.

Generally, our stay was a good one. However, two things didn't go exactly as planned. The first is the terace, where they only serve dinner, because during the summer it is too hot. And also, we had a problem with the safe in the room, which was blocked with our wallet in and it took them three days to fix. Overall, it was a good stay.

Loved the hotel and the staff. Conveniently located in a great area of Istanbul. Only problem was that there was construction on a building next door and we were awakened too early by hammering. HOwever, the staff was very accomodating in allowing us to switch rooms. the second room was perfectly quiet.

When we arrive to the hotel they didn't know anything about our reservation. They told Venere not to sell more rooms, but the system didn't work. The hotel was full, but they were extremely kind and arranged the situation. Finally we slept there all the nights except the last one.
