Hosted in a 19th century building, the recently renovated Avicenna hotel, is located right in the old city of Istanbul, very close to the main tourist attrations such as the Blue Mosque, St. Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar, most of them within walking distance of the property.
Among the on-site facilities you will find two restaurants, one of them located at the top floor with à la carte menus, a bar, Internet access, safety deposit box at the reception along with tourist information, and a shuttle service to the airport.

Our rooms were not available for the first two nights of our visit, and the Avicenna staff arranged accommodation at the nearby Semungen Hotel (lower standard but at the same price as the rooms we booked at the Avicenna). Our stay at the Avicenna for the remaining four nights was very pleasant. Avicenna's location, service -and breakfast - were excellent.

AN excellent choice for city wanderers. Excellent ratings should go to the personnel, both competent and willing to help (even though they've got their favorite addresses). Room impeccably clean and no surprise on the size if you've read guests comments. Flexible services (early breakfast, free airport transfer from 3 nights), free internet, nice breakfasts, and of course an excellent location next to many major sites and to transportation. OK the muezzin sings at 5 AM, but he does so throughout Istanbul and what's the point of coming here if it's like home ? We highly recommend.

The hotel is very well located, just one minute from everything worth to see. The breakfast is very good, actually the best we found in our trip. At the reception you will also find a quite guy with big head, he is a good guy but doen't speak too much. We call him BOMBOLONE...italian nickname. The room is a little too small, but we didn't spend too much time in it since we were always out. I believe it is, overall, a good hotel. Albergo è ben situato, a pochi minuti dai monumenti più importanti.

this hotel is really excellent. Very well situated in heart of sultanhamet but far from traffic and noise. Very nice restaurant with good food and a wonderfull view on the Marmara sea. Staff helpful and friendly.

This hotel was fine but nothing special - I wouldn't object to staying there again but wouldn't go out of my way to do so. Location was great except that the hotel is a bit close to the train tracks!
