The strong points are location and staff competence. The weak point was that, for the first night we were put at room 303. According to all standards, room 303 is totally unacceptable as a double room. Next day we were moved to room 305, that is acceptable

Perfect location for a s hort stay in Istanbul. Walking distance to the GrandBazaar, The Blue Mosque, Haggia Sophia. Plenty of restaurants just around the corner. Very good service. We had to leave early in the morning and were served breakfast at the terrass at 6 am. Shuttle service to the airport (40 euros for 8 persons). No elevator and quite a lot of noise from the restaurants, but over-all a price-worthy hotel.

I happily extended my stay at the Atlantis Hotel from 5 to 7 nights and I will book again when I return to Istanbul in a few months. The location is excellent for everything you will want in Sultanameht. The Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque are less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The Hippodrome is across the road and so on. The hotel is small, very well run and very clean. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed for the price range. The hotel is excellent value for money. The breakfast is very good. All the staff were helpful. Perhaps most importantly, the management are very helpful. As a single traveller speaking only English, their assistance with travel arrangements and finding unusual locations was much appreciated.

Location is good(it's very close to tram station). There are restrants around hotel. As we stayed along side of stree,we could sleep well(not noisy at night). If we can stay at same price in the future,we'd like to do so.

Hello all. I visited Istanbul in October 2009 for 4 nights, at the Atlantis Hotel, and was overall very satisfied during my stay. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, having no difficulties in communicationg as all staff are english-speakers. Room was very spacious and comforting. Only problem i experienced was the slight noise disturbance during the night from outside, as windows are not noise proof. For the price i paid, i got exactly what was said on the tin, and would recommend anyone visiting Istanbul to stay at the Atlantis hotel.

The Staff Were Very Welcomming and Spoke decent english and were always inormative & its best asset. My Room was excelent value for money - As i had mentioned we have a baby with us we were given a large room with an extra bed instead of the Double we requested. The Breafast Was EXCELLENT - best in the city with the best OMLET on Demand and friedly staff providing more than what you need for the day. The Location is ideal if you wish to see the Historic Sites of Istanbul as all are walking distance and the best means to travel is the Tram wich is a few steps from the Hotel.

Hotel is good for the price, clean but very basic. Location is very good. Hidden costs to be aware of - phone calls from hotel. I made 2 very short phone calls (4-5 minutes max in total) to Istanbul land line and I was charged equvalent of 15 pounds!!! (18Euro)The manager or the owner also trying to sell you very expensive trips/ dinner with belly dancers and other staff as soon as he find out you are first time in Istanbul - he makes it sounds as it is just one or two days on the special offer - " You are so lucky!". All this con artist tricks really spoiled the impression of the hotel and make it very unprofessional business - just like any bazaar.....

The place is very good, exceleent location, but not for taxi, very friendly staff: Matlu, orris, Husni, and and the sweet lady young man at breakfast service. Breakfast is fine. Kitchen needs to be renovated. Room needs a mini bar ref, a safe and a table for luggage. Hair dryers need to be repalced. The hotel is fine, small, no elevator ok. But when asked for a late checkout, they said rooms were on demand. Therefore, I paid for extra night to stay to the evenining, but other rooms were vacant and there no demands on hotel room. Thanks you staff at Venere, you made an excellent connections between customers&hotels.

I initially booked a room for a single occupancy. However upon arrival I told the owner I wished to change it to a double occupancy as I was expecting a Turkish friend and invited her over to over stay at the hotel. (The room it self has two beds: 1 double and 1 single). My request was turned down despite me wanting to pay the difference. AND I found out that the main reason for the request rejection was that the owner DOES NOT ALLOW local Turkish guests into his establishment!!! I ended up renting another room at another hotel nearby. Refund requests were rejected. Obviously, the room I had at Atlantis was never occupied, yet was fully paid.

I stayed at the Atlantis for three nights in august 2009. Overall it was a wonderful stay. The staff were very polite and attentive and they even managed to check us in early. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace is a very nice addition and it always had a large variety of things to choose from. I also really liked the free internet in the lobby (apparently, they also have free wi-fi but we never used it). I would say that this is a definite top-pick since it is literally a minute away from the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque but, because it is on a side street, you don't have to deal with the nonstop noise coming from the bars, terraces and so on.

A very friendly, centrally placed hotel, within walking distance of alot of the major sights, yet surprisingly quiet. The staff were uniformly helpful and would go out of their way to find out things for you. The rooms were comfortable though a little small - but that was not a problem as you only need to be there to sleep and change. It wasn't easy to find initially as it was on a small street which taxis cannot access, but once you got used tot the location you realised how well placed it was! Will stay there again.

Very good value for money. This hotel exceeded my expectations. It's clean, nice, very central in the heart of Sultanahmet just a short walk away from all the main sites, and the staff were the best, including our lovely breakfast lady. It was my first time in Istanbul and, if I went back, I would definitely stay there again.

The staff is very nice. Breakfast is complete, and delicious omelette. The room is correct, no modern fourniture but clean. It´s very very close to a lot of interesting places. For me, the only problem was the noise coming from the restaurants on the outside, the hotel is surrounded by restaurants. I recommend this hotel for the price, the location and the staff.

The neighborhood is very busy and the hotel fronts on a narrow street with many restaurants a block from a very busy tram stop and park. The area was noisy until at least midnight and the windows were inadequate for keeping out the noise. On a positive note, the breakfast service was outstanding. The woman working there made the best omelets we had during 3 weeks in Turkey. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful.

This is a perfectly adequate hotel but at €70 a night it was probably a bit steep - but perhaps it was time of year. The service in the hotel was excellent and could not have been better. From the very helpful guy at reception, to the lovely lady who made our breakfast - excellent service!! The area is perfect for sightseeing, with some cheap places to eat near by. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty. The Beds were very comfortable.

Plain room but located a short walk from all the sights of Sultanamet and 1 short block to the tram. Off a back alley and a little hard to find the first time. Easy once you know where it is. Good breakfast. Just about the nicest, most helpful staff I have stayed with. No lift but the staff helped with our baggage. Staff arranged cheap and reliable van transport to the airport.

Amazingly quiet on a warren of pedestrian streets just off a major street at Sultanahmet tram stop with lots of shops, restaurants, and 5 minute walk to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Easy to get to via Metro & Tram. Very nice staff, eager to help in any way. Breakfast on enclosed roof terrace was fantastic. No lift/elevator. Luggage storage in basement. Extremely clean. Associated with TeamTurkeyTravel agency next door whose agent, Mehtap [whose name means "Moonlight", which fits her prefectly] is an angel and is very efficient and helpful in every way. Her help made my trip in the rest of Turkey very easy and very pleasant.

The hotel is perfectly situated for tourist sites and ease of access. Close to tram lots of restaurants right in the heart of Sultanahmet. An older hotel that but clean & tidy and the fantastic staff can't do enough for you. Their advise was spot on. Restaurant opposite hotel doors was excellent both price wise and stanadard of food with welcoming staff. Treated us like family

The hotel itself was good for the price and the location. Walk in price is higher than Venere's price, so it's best to book for the exact number of nights for your stay. What made it really stand out was the staff. The people who work at the front desk were extremely nice and very pleasant to deal with. The travel agency next door made it convenient to get more information about what to see. They all spoke good English, so communication was easy. It's located so extremely close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Very easy walking distance (5 mins). A tram and a metro will get you from the airport to within a block of the hotel.

It was adequate but to get to and from you have to run a gauntlet of restauranteurs trying to entice you into their restaurants. On the plus side good food was always nearby. The hotel staff was all friendly except for a woman at the front desk who was rude and offensive. I heard her tell a family who wanted to stay a 2 nights more that she could not give them the venere rate and would charge 20 more euros per night. They immediately sat down at the internet and started looking for a new hotel. Good for them. She then argued, in all seriousness, with my husband that he hadn't stayed there. After some back and forth he said fine we won't pay. I came forward then and she realized her mistake with him. Unbelievable.

Location, location, location. That's the one reason to stay here, just steps away from the major sights (Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque). The staff was friendly and the free internet useful (although, with only one computer, you may have to compete with hogging guests for it). A simple, forgettable breakfast was included. My only negatives were that it was a little noisy in the early hours of the morning and that the room was very small with a bathroom that desperately needs to be renovated (cracks on the sink, toilet, and shower). But you must remember this is a budget hotel. Overall, I'd recommend it for those on a budget looking to stay right in the tourist center, but not for those used to the standards of chain hotels.

The hotel is in a great location and many of the main sites are within walking distance. We arrived by train and tram and had trouble finding the hotel, but after asking several people we found it in a back street lined with restaurants. The room we stayed in was huge and clean. We were warned to make sure to ask for a room with working air conditioning. Breakfast is the usual Turkish spread however it is served on the rooftop. The free internet is a bonus.

In spite of somewhat mediocre overall ratings, the hotel has two unbeatable advantages: a good location in Sultanahmet (though not easy to access in a car or a taxi, because the entrance is on a pedestrian street), and a very welcoming breakfast room with a view upon the roofs of the Old City. The cook of the breakfast room was very helpful and really hospitable. The other guests happened to be nice people, it was a pleasure to have them as neighbours.
