The Allstar Ambassador hotel is located in the centre of Istanbul, in the heart of the Sultanahmet district and a short walk distance to the Spice Market and the Eminonu Pier port where start the ferries to Bosphorus and Asia, as well as from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. The immediate neighborhood offers numerous restaurants, bars, nightclubs and shops.

The location is superb - very close to the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Sultanahmet tram station. The view from the rooftop dining area is truly stunning. We found that most of the staff spoke English well and were eager to assist. The only drawbacks: 1. The furniture in the rooms is rather dowdy and could do with replacement. 2. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. 3. Avoid the surrogate fruit juices served with the breakfast buffet - they are rather tasteless cordials masquerading as fruit juices. BUT OTHERWISE THIS IS A VERY GOOD HOTEL FOR THE TARIFFS IT CHARGES. WE WILL DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN. BEST HOWEVER TO GO FOR A SUITE WITH JACUZZI RATHER THAN A STANDARD ROOM (IF YOU CAN AFFORD THE FORMER).
