The hotel location and room quality was great for the price - no complaints. My only issue was initial reception when I was told my room was not available - the electricity was being repaired. I was taken to another hotel; supposedly for one night. The other hotel was a disgrace. Dirty and literally holes in the wall; located right next to the main train station. Without AC, the window needed to stay open all night. Right as I stepped into the room a train sounded its whistle - as if I didn't already know I wasn't going to stay at this place. Back to the hotel and suddenly a room is available, they just need to move someone. Apparently the someone was a friend. I saw him as he left the room and again the next morning sleeping on pillows in the hotel lobby. Excellent hotel for the price; just make sure you get your room

I'd like to kindly thank all personal for making our 6-night stay simply excellent. Room was very nice, clean and quiet with air-conditioner. Breakfast was very tasty every day, and staff was friendly and helpful. I stayed in sultanahmet-sirkeci areas quite many time and Agan was the best place to stay. I will definitely come back to this hotel.

Good hotel. Many of the amenities were questionable: Wi-Fi did not work in my room (302) so I used the hotel PC or my laptop on the ground floor. A/C worked late at night - very well. Refrigerator was housed in a cabinet which made it warm up, and didn't cool very well. Having said that, I was still not disappointed. The problems were minimal, and the fact that this hotel was so near to all of the sights and that it was conveniently located to almost everything you could possibly need or want made up for any other issues I might have had. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is an excellent place to the main attractions: Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Bazaar, and the Castle, ect... within walking distance. However, the hotel is not there to make their guesses feel protected. If you're asking how to walk to those main attractions, they are trying to sell you a walking tour. The hotel is good for the price paid.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food downstairs was great, and chilling out on the cushions outside was a highlight of my evenings. The location was good, walking distance to most places. Only downside was the rooms were not as clean as i would have liked but still livable.

The hotel was generally ok just to spend the night as it has the basic facilities. We were on the 1st floor and it was very noisy from the surrounding bars/cafes. Hotel staff were very helpful and accomodating and even prepared us a complimentary bfast way before bfast commencement time, as we had to catch an early flight.

Excellent location, at walking distance from the most famous attractions. Public transportation is also conveniently located, about 200 m away. Rooms are very small but they are worth the money and they are very clean. Personnel speaks a very good english and they are very supportive.

The location is the great thing about this hotel; less than a mile from most of the major sights and very close to some terrific restaurants (we particularly recommend the Enjoyer). The staff are friendly, especially the younger ones, but overwhelmed and seem to do 24hr shifts. Only one teenage girl spoke any English at all. The management are cheerfully inept - on arrival we were shunted off to a neighbouring hotel for the night as our room wasn't ready, and the cleaner was a law unto herself. There is internet connection, but the keyboard was scrubbed clean of characters, which about sums the place up. It's friendly but chaotic, so if it's a smooth holiday you want you should go elsewhere; but if you don't mind the madness and plan on being out in the city from dawn to dusk, as we were, then it works.

We spent 6 days in Istanbul - 3 nights in Hotel Agan, and the last night we had a reservation there too; but the hotel was overbooked. They promised another hotel (Best Nobel Hotel)in the near, and in the same price. It was very good quality in that price too.

Pluses: + It is near (10 min walk) to the main attractive places in Istanbul - Sultan Ahmet, Ayasofya and so on. + It is very near (3 min walk) to one of the tram stations. Minuses: - They don't like credit cards and ask you to pay in cash. - Their exchange rate for euro-turkish lira was high and unfair. - There is a building construction on-going just besides the hotel which spoils view from the window.

Hotel managment have done his best to not acept credit card and they demanded to have a great plus for paying with card! They have a public bar in the first floor that's very noisy. Breakfast is absolutelly horrible. Better chose the other hotels that are in the same street because the area is very well located to visit town.

We stayed for four nights in Hotel Agan. The service was friendly, the room was clean (cleanded every day). For two perons we had three beds. That was the reason, why the room seemed pretty narrow. Breakfast was okay. The most important sights can be reached within 10 minutes walk. For the airport shuttle from airport to the hotel they charged 25 € for two persons. Back there was a collective shuttle from several hotels that costed 10 YTL per Person (about 5 €). So I wonder why that price didn´t worked for the first ride. All in all a nice stay.

Service was generally excellent,, but we requested a wake-up call at 3:00 Am and never got it. We carry an alarm for that reason. Loved the location. Were surprised at the great breakfast provided, thought the employees were very solicitous. Couldn't believe the free internet provided. All in all, we would stay there again.

Fisrt time at the hotel. The quality is excellent for the price. So is the location, quite close to the main monuments, close to the tramways which connects quickly to the Taksim commercial area. Good breakfast, very useful internet connection. I would advice credit cards acceptance.

The rooms were small but in excellent condition and clean. The bed was comfortable. The only complaint I have is the bathroom without a shower stall or curtain. The bathroom was clean, but it would be better to not have the shower spraying into the whole bathroom. The price was excellent when considering it included a TV (with limited satellite channels) and continental breakfast. The breakfast was modest but consistent. The staff were polite and helpful. I would stay here again. The hotel is in a neighborhood with a variety of inexpensive restaurants and cafes, and it is close to the tram and many popular tourist sites.

very low price and very low quality. The bathroom has a lot of things broken, the shower has no door or curtain so, when used, the bathroom gets wet everywhere. For a four-day stay in Istanbul with two children (6 and 9)this hotel was a very good choice, the rate between the price, the cleanliness of rooms, services and the hotel location was already very high by itself but it was increased by a very nice welcoming and devotion of the staff of the hotel. Breakfast were also a nice moments. Most of the touristic places of Istanbul are in a walking distance (even for children), lot of restaurants around the hotel with reasonalble prices. I recommand AGAN hotel to people who wants to travel with their children at a low price with a good quality of services (e.g. internet available for free in the lobby of the hotel, air conditioning in the room,...). The room was may be a little bit narrow for 4 people but was largely sufficient for the time we had to spend in it, and it was our choice to share the room with children. I would return in this hotel if I have to plan a holiday travel to Istanbul.

We had trouble finding the hotel (our fault) and a member of staff came on foot to pick us up from a shop we had managed to phone from. That was great service. Also, our room was serviced and clean towels supplied. It was also the only time in Turkey we were given hand towels,(we pick cheaper hotels)so we were very impressed with the service. The location was very good, handy to the tram, spice market, Galatea Bridge and Bosphorus trip with many cheap friendly restaurants nearby. And a short tram trip or walk to other famous sights.

the hotel is very good and personnel is very kind. unfortunately there was a misunderstanding because we arrived one day later and we called to confirm our presence (in english) for the next days, but when we arrived we found that they had given our room to someone else! So we had to sleep one night in another hotel (very near but horrible) waiting for a free room in Agan! The hotel did all the research and accomodation in the other structure, and we paid however the pre-established price, but it was an annoyance

Not a fancy hotel but affordable. Reasonably close to city center but a good walk nonetheless. The included breakfast is modest. The hotel shows wear and needs some repair. Hallway lights were on a motion sensor which was irritating. Overall, not a bad stay.

first of all, i want to say that the pictures from venere don't show exactly the best view of Agan, which is actually much more nicer than i could imagine, looking at the pictures on venere. than, the rooms at the upper floor have a great view, one can really feel the city! the position of the hotel coudn't be better: you can reach all the main sites, by walking, in no time (plus it is near the trainstation and harbor)! last but not least, i would also what to thank the staff for being so nice and making our stay very pleasent - and the stay of other friends that went there, on my advice :) hope they keep the good prices and the good food, so that i will keep being their devoted client :)
