Golden Horn Hotel Sirkeci - Special Class - Istanbul

The Golden Horn is a very nice hotel and we enjoyed our stay there. It is very centrally located to explore Old Istanbul and all the main sights. Very easy to find everything you need. Would recommend to anyone staying in Istanbul. PAL

Room is very small and uncomfortable. Staff is not really helpful, chek-out took almost half an our long. Access of the hotel and parking nearby is really difficult. However breakfast was excellent and the view from breakfast terrace was really nice.

We arrived at the hotel as pre-booked only to be told that they had a problem with the room and we would have to go to another of their hotels. this was really not good - it meant that having travelled most of the day we were going to have a second day partly wasted changing hotels again - not good service at all. Also the "problem" was almost certainly a lie - the hotel had simply taken too many bookings and had run out of rooms! That was quite apparent the next day when we returned to the hotel.

I had room 504: (a) the shower is very old and must be remaked completely, it is very difficult to enter it,(b)the TV set is not working properly, (c) there is a continuos noise of water. Not recommended.

The place of the hotel is perfect but the room was small. The view from the breakfast room is great!

Ottima colazione, stanze piccole con tutti i confort anche la doccia, centralissimo. si può trovare l'equivalente a meno in altre zone della turchia, non so a instanbul.

BAD EXPERIENCE: ROBBERY IN THE HOTEL We spent three night in the Golden Horn Sirkeci. The hotel location is really good, room small but clean and confortable, polite personnel, rich buffet breakfast. But unfortunately we had a very bad experience when in our last day I found out that somone had stolen a document with some money from my luggage (left all along our stay in the room)! Nobody but the bell boy or the personnel for cleaning ever entered the room. Nice stay but heavily conditioned by the theft we suffered!

Location is the main asset. Close to Sultanahmet and also to Eminou, Galata Bridge. Excellent buffet in the morning. Friendly staff.

The only thing I didn´t like was the loud air-condition during the night. Very good position to reach Topkapi, Haghia Sophia etc. Rich breakfast buffet.
