A pleasant stay in a perfect location, a few minutes walk from Sultanahmet Camii (Blue Mosque), near the lovely Küçük Ayasofya Caddesi (Small St Sophia Avenue that is) and Arasta Bazaar. The building is historical, covered in timber, the windows even have typical wooden screens, but this also means that rooms are small and not too soundproof (but the guests were silent, so this was not a problem). The atmosphere is very oriental, you can hear clearly the call to prayer, and the views, especially from higher floors, are beautiful - the Marmara Sea, entrance to Bosphorus and, maybe, the Blue Mosque. The best view is from the 4th floor, where there is only one small double room. Some of the rooms have 3 beds. So, the location is perfect, you can experience true Istanbul and there is a short walk to main sites and tram station. Add to this a very helpful staff and a satisfying breakfast (with turkish coffee on request). Plus a roof terrace where you can have a drink while watching the night views of the city. Ospitality was great, we got invited to breakfast even though we were only checking in that morning, you are offerred coffee and there is always something sweet (turkish cakes and delight) and fruit in the lobby and in the breakfast room for anyone to have a snack. Bottled water is also on the house. Except for that, there is nothing in the minibar, but there are shops in the area from where you can buy beer, snacks and such at a good price. For those driving there, there are always reserved parking spots for guests just in front of the hotel. Negatives: the rug in our room looked dirty, could have been better cleaned or even changed. There is little space for clothes (one small closet). There is little space in the room, you almost do not have where to stack the bed cover and the decorative pillows when going to sleep. Breakfast is only from 8 o'clock.

I spent three days in Emine Sultan, and my personal experience was not good, first of all because of the price...to much expensive for a noisy and small room. The facilities offered were poor ,less the breakfast ,it was ok.

We had a great stay at Emine Sultan hotel. The service and hospitality were beyond words. Just as an example, we flew into Istanbul very early in the morning, and we arrived at the hotel at 8:15 am. We were expecting to be able to leave our luggage with the reception and to start wandering in town until the official checkin time, rather we were greeted by Ozze who told us our rooms were ready and that we could check in, and that we could also have breakfast. This was a real bonanzza. We could refresh ourselves and start exploring the city under totally different conditions than those we would have had, had we not had this possibility. The day we left, our flight was late at night. Again, after checking out, the staff of course took receipt of our luggage, but we kept coming back to the hotel, and enjoying services such as help with our online flight check in, printing our boarding passes, ordering a cab for us. We could rest in the lounge and surf the internet. The night front desk clerk even made us a cup of tea as we were waiting for our cab to come and take us to the airport. Every single member of the staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and bountiful. The lady in charge of the breakfast operation was so attentive. She rapidly learned what we requested (especially brewed on the spot Turkish coffee served in an exquisite cup on a silver tray with a matching container for a piece of Rahat lokoom, and mineral water) and greeted us the next days with those extras without even having to ask for them. The view overlooking the sea of Marmara from the rooftop dining room was breathtaking. The location of the hotel was perfect, within walking distance of all the major historical hot spots, and close to the sea front promenade where we made sure to burn those irresistible calories with an early morning refreshing stroll. And the biggest surprise of all, on the third day we were oblivious to the 5:00 am Muezzin's call, to the point that we asked

Nice wooden building in Ottoman style, beautifully furnished. It's been decorated paying attention to every detail. The view of the Golden Horn from the terrace is stunning and you really get spoilt at breakfast with a lovely selection of jams and marmalades, cheses and sweets.

We enjoyed our stay at Emine Sultan Hotel very much. The staff was very helpful and easily approachable. Breakfast was excellent and the staff even arranged for an early breakfast on our departure date. The hotel is very close to all the major tourist attractions as well. I recommend the Emine Sultan Hotel without hesitation.

We booked the triple room so that we would have ample space, but sadly had only one night's accomodation before we left. Breakfast was great, the staff welcoming. We would stay here again any time!

I had read comments on this site before choosing my Istanbul hotel and I had doubts about their relevance and honesty. After five nights at Emin Sultan I went back reading couple of comments in several languages. All of them match my own experience. The place is neat, proper, well maintained and equipped. Contact with staff and hospitality are really great night and day. They care about you, your programme, your satisfaction unlike receptionists in bigger Hotels. I will remember the spontaneous appreciation they delivered as they saw us in evening dress (as we went to a wedding party). Something you’ll never get in many more sophisticated places. An Yes the room are small (50 cm between bed and wall; small wash basin, etc) YES couple of additional hooks or coat hangers would help store pyjama or a set of trousers and shirt; YES breakfast buffet juices smell like chemicals whereas fresh oranges and fruits abounds in all groceries; YES, advices for visits, eateries tend to point to the ‘friends’ network” but that’s way it happens over there. Take an occultation mask if you want to enjoy long nights as the curtains do not filter daylight!

I will definitely stay again in this hotel. It was close to all important sites. However, it was hard to find. We had to ask someone to pick us up from the tramway - Sulhanamet station. The deck view was exquisite and breakfast was superb. They went out of their way to serve and the wifi is excellent. I navigated without problems. The rooms are quite small but kept well. We barely got our rooms cleaned but as soon as we asked them to do it, it was done. Oh, there was a bottle of wine on our beds too. I'll be back in Istanbul soon and will definitely book this hotel again.
