The room was OK, and we did get twin beds as requested. The breakfast was so-so: The bread good, some fresh melon. The cheese was without taste, the sausage likewise, and salad is not something we have for breakfast. Orange juice and omelet were extra, and the knowledge of English was such that we did not get to order omelet. Very close to the hotel there was a mosque calling to prayers at 04 a.m. Not the hotel's fault, but very irritating The location was excellent relative to the sights of Sultanahmet.

The location is fine, closed to Blue Mosque. There is a good fish restaurant near the hotel. The room is not big, but enought comfortable and clean. There is wi-fi. The breakfast is good. The sauna is fine after all day walking. The staff is very friendly and helpful

We struggled a bit finding the hotel the first day on foot, but after that it was easy. We wanted a quiet spot to enable us to sleep well, and the Aruna Hotel was great for that. All the staff we friendly and helpful. The breakfast did not vary much, but had enough choice to suit us over our 6 nights there and provided a nice view of the Bosphorus. The location was handy as it was only an 8 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and 2 more to the tram stop. With our late flight, we were very happy that they allowed us to store our suitcases there during our last day after check-out processes.

Sauna and Turkish bath are free :), but the hotel posted an invitation for tea and cake during the afternoon without mentioning a six dollar charge :(. They also should post instructions for the lock-box and TV system in the rooms. Everything else was excellent!

This hotel was more like a B&B it was very welcoming. The only issue I had, was that we stayed on a room that was street side, and we would hear everything that went on, not to mention the street lights. The curtains did not cover the windows to shield the light. Other than that a good stay at a great location.

Rooms are spacious and finished and appointed with period looking decoration and furniture. The hotel faces a small, but very busy cobblestone street, which can be noisy. Although it is quiet at night. The breakfast room is very nice with a view of the water, and a very nice buffet. Spa was also very nice. Had massages that were great. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel was excellent and we would stay there again. They made our first time in Istanbul a memorable experience. The people were friendly and the room was clean but there were stains on the back side of the blanket and even when cleaned they were still there. I think they should have changed the blanket for a new one. It was pretty as in the pictures but underneath was a different story. We did not use this even though you could smell it was washed. We always have clean towels and even an iron (upon request). There was always hot water and breakfast was very satisfying. They helped with travel and hotel arrangements since my husband needed to stay an extra night and they did not have a room available. The people in the hotel are family oriented and quiet which makes a very peaceful and nice stay. However, we are muslim and we had a problem with bath house, the mother and daughter who work there did not want to leave while my husband and I were so my husband became very upset and the manager had to force them to leave because it is not right for a woman to see a man without clothes in islam. Also, there are shuttles there that will take you to the airport for 12 lira which is about 8USD so use this for transport to the airport which is located just up the hill from the hotel as you go to the bazaar right before the mosque. Be careful of the many fish houses in the area for they will over charge you and even try to charge tax which does not exist in Istanbul anymore but we found an excellent restaurant owned by Abdul-Kadir and his prices are fair and portions big (may even get a discount if the party is big enough). The name is fish and meat house it is situated on left side of tram way after Hagya Sophiya. When you get to the end of the street turn left and you will see the restaurant up the hill. They have an excellent local dessert which he put premium vanilla ice cream on which would melt on the dessert and this was the best thing I ever ate.

Rooms are pleasant and spacious, in classic Turkish style. Breakfast is excellent, every day something was added (pancakes, bourek) to an already great selection of cheeses, olives, vegetables, various breads and cakes. Prayer call at 6.30 is heard all over Istanbul and inavitably here also. From the hotel to the Hippodrome there is a short but uphill walk.

We found the hotel to be fine; we had a junior suite which was quite spacious, clean and quiet. The only criticism was the shower, which was fine, except it (the connection line) was not long enough to fit the handheld shower in the fitting on the wall so as to make it a regular shower. Also, the breakfast, while adequate, was pretty minimal. We did however like everything else.

Hotel Aruna gives you good opportunity to visit all the main touristical spots in Sultanehmet/Istanbul by foot. For furhter locations the tram is available. The staff friendly (though too much hanging around the reception desk), breakfast coulb be better. The room and bathroom are lovely. Our main problem with Aruna is caused by the surroundings. Once innovated in the coming years, Aruna will be one of the best situated places to stay in Istanbul. And doing so, the price (€99 for a Deluxe double room) is perfectly correct.

This hotel was well located for all the major sites. Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Topkaki Palace and the Spice Market. The room was lovely and the most comfortable bed we had in our whole month in Greece and Turkey. The breakfast buffet was ample and varied and the coffee was always ready. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and take care of all our needs. I would not hesitate to recommend Aruna Hotel or stay there again if I find my way back to Istanbul. A great hotel for the money!!

Location very convenient for visiting monuments of the old city (5 minutes walk), and finding typical/ fishes restaurants, allthough surroundings not "glamourous". Do not expect a beautiful view from your room, and ask for a room "inside", much quieter, although you'll be awaken by the "muezzin" (around 5 o'clock a-m). Beautifull viewes of Blue Mosq and Marmara see, from the 2 terrrasses of the hotel. Rooms a bit "old fashioned", but cumfortable ( new TV and air conditionning): you must know that there is no top sheet but a light cotton blanket instead... Towels to thin ! Junior suites perfect for a week stay; "normal" rooms just ok for a week end (not enough room to store personal effects). People serving in the hotel very nice, helpfull, doing their best to make your stay pleasant.

Quality furnishings but strange lack of attention to detail in the room so it was necessary to ask for what was obviously needed rather than it just being done. Staff walked into our locked room while we were there twice during the stay! Very few smiles and one member of staff spoke almost no English making communication impossible at times. Ordered shuttle service did not turn up on arrival. Breakfasts good. Holiday happy - Istanbul is a really great place.

We stayed 5 days in Istanbul, we had a pleasant time in this hotel. Clean, tidy, had everything we needed. The hotel staff was very professional and helpful, the receptionists spoke perfect English and were able to provide any information we needed. We particularly enjoyed the pancakes in some of the mornings, we wished to have them every day.

My friends and I enjoyed Istanbul and had a very comfortable time staying at Aruna hotel. We were able to walk to all the main attractions (blue mosque, aya sophia, cistern, palace, grand bazaar etc) within 10 minutes of the hotel. Aruna serve a traditional breakfast with fresh breads, cereals, cheeses, fruit and much more... yum! The service was excellent. Whenever we needed an extra towel or had a question, the staff were always ready to help. It feels like a family run business and they seemed like they really cared. I would stay at Aruna again.

First time visitor to Istanbul for full week and enjoyed every minute of it. The roof terrace breakfast buffet was brilliant and catered for all tastes. Coming back to the terrace after sightseeing and the bustle of the town was a heaven of tranquility to savour a beer before going out for dinner afterwards again. The room could have been bigger as the storage space was limited and we partly lived out of a suitecase for the week. But still the character of the place compensated for it. Found that Friday night to Sunday night can be noisy on account of the weekend when you want to sleep with the window open but that is not confined to this metropolis. The location of the hotel is very convenient for on-foot exploration of the peninsula and the tramstop at Sultanahmet Square gives easy access to Greater Istanbul including the Airport. We can recommend this hotel to anybody who wants to experience Istanbul. Everybody of the staff was very helpful and pleasant.

The room, although clean and newly furbished, was located in the ground floor, and the window faced a small, dark and noisy patio. There are two rooms in this ground floor. Try to avoid them. The breakfast was good, and the top terrace had views to the Bosphorus. Except for this room, the rest was ok.

Beside the proximity of the historical monuments, restaurants, one can access the Bosphorus just outside the wall for a nice walk along Kennedy Blvd. the hotel is clean, the rooms are well decorated, nice breakfast in both Turkish and Western style. Above all a very hospitable manager and the staff. They went a long way to provide assistance and make our stay very pleasant.

Aruna Hotel is a beautiful little hotel which is wonderful value for money. It is a little off the beaten track compared to other hotels in the area, but well worth the extra (only 5 mins extra!) walking. Breakfast is excellent, a combination of traditional (try the fresh greens - parsley etc., or tahini and molasses) and international. The rooms are "small(ish) but perfectly formed". The beds are super comfy, and everything is spotless. The staff are friendly and polite. Next time I visit Istanbul (or Constantinople as it was under the Byzantine Greeks), I will definitely stay at the Aruna Hotel again.

Unforgettable stay at Aruna We stayed in this lovely little boutique hotel in the late july and it was really wonderful. At first, we had some question marks in our minds but as soon as we arrived the hotel, they were all gone by the meeting the hotel and the staff. Once we arrived the hotel, we were welcomed so warmly and then given a very usefull information about the hotel and the area. The room was perfect. We reserved a junior suite and there was a turkish bath in the room..The next morning, a perfect breakfast met us in the restaurant. The location was also perfect. After 5 min walking, we got every single point of the old city. Special thanks to the manager Mr. Yilmaz and its team (they were quite like a member of a family to each other) for their great sevice during our stay. We highly recommend this place without any hesitation to everybody.. Rgrds from Alex e Teresa..
