Location is excellent, especially if you are interested in historical sites like Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sofya and Blue Mosque. Tram (local train) connection is in the 'Square' which is approx 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Restaurants are less than 2 minutes walk away (good choice of Turkish food). Staff are friendly and efficient. Cleanliness standard is good. However, room size is less than what I thought when I saw web pictures. Not very small, but not spacious either. Breakfast is good though quality of fruit juices can be improved (fresh jouce instead of packed stuff please). Overall, good experience. Would be happy to recommend to most people.

we stayed in the corner room of the hotel, however the actual room given to us was different from the room shown on the website. much smaller, most of the hotel pics seem misleading in terms of actual size of the rooms. On the service front, the hotel has key issues, language (staff does not speak fluent english), room service is pathetic (even after repeated calls, no body came to the room), hotel infrastructure is in bad shape (a/c not working, windows shades broken, electric short circuits etc) The terrace hotel restaurant on the hotel virtually does not exists (again shown on pics for marketing purposes). even if you want to eat, there are no servers.. location is very nice (good views of the bhosporus sea) but else it useless..we did not eat even once in the hotel except for the breakfast which was good.

Expensive for quality. But hard to find a good price for a good quality in Istanbul.

We were very happy with this hotel accomadations. The Breakfast included was generous but the waite staff did not all speak english to explain food. Our room was the corner away from the street corner, so there was a lot next to us. We were on the 4 th floor and looked down on a 1 story large low shack with two satalite dishes on top of it. Next to that lot was another with a 4 or 5 story building being framed. The one working day we were there the work was noisy. Our private tour guide warned us we were boardering the gypsy area and that the quality od food at the near by resturants was not good. We were walking distance to everything and enjoyed our stay. We stayed 2 days here and were offered airport transportation.

Spacious corner room, helpful desk staff, great breakfast, and close proximity to Blue Mosque and other sights. Lots of open-air cafes and shops within a few minutes walking distance. Also close to train station for a quick ride to the Golden Horn area of Istanbul.

Fantastix stay, the room was wonderful, had the corner room and well worth the little extra. Great, central area, helpful, friendly staff, in particular Husain and Moustopha (sorry, do not know how to spell)which we now consider friends. Highly recommend staying at this hotel, the breakfast is also extremely good. Truly captures the culture, we loved our stay and a huge thank you to the staff at the Amiral Palace for helping to make our stay that much more amazing. Jeff and Melina

Too small room for a double room, it would be ok. for a single room. No place to hang or put your clothes, belongings. Very poor breakfast,no natural juices, not enough quantities, very limited variety of selection. Good location(Sultanahmet),near Hagia Sofia,Hammam....

We stayed in a corner room, quiet, cosy, attractive but rather small. Our friends in an another corner room (I guess the big one the web site of Amiral Palace has a picture of) and that was with atmosphere and large at the same time. A welcoming basket of fresh fruit was in our room and for a stay of 4 days we arranged a free transfer from the airport to the hotel. Tha management was friendly, well prepared, eager to give you advice and offer services. In the hall you can find a standalone PC with a free wireless Internet connection (quite good in speed for Turkey average connection performance). A plesant stay and very good value for your money.

I was last christmas in this wonderful hotel with my hudsband Miguel and all was perfect except the noise of our room that has a restaurant next to and it was usually had music till later, but the staff has always a solution to each problem. The location is perfect, the staff is very kindand always with a smile, rooms and baths are very clean and everything is perfect. Breakfast buffet is correct but could be better. We recomend this hotel to everybody who goes to Istambul.

When we arrived we were given a room with two twin beds, even though I had expressly reserved a double. The staff was completely unaccommodating and said they couldn't do anything for the night but that the next day we could move to a double. Obviously moving from room to room is not how you want to spend a short holiday. We were at least expecting that they'd make an effort to put us in a nice double, but this wasn't the case. The room was smaller than the first and on street level so we had to keep the curtains drawn the entire time. Worse, it was underneath the stairs so every time someone walked by the noise echoed through the room. There was also an issue with the pipes so that they gurgled LOUDLY all through the night. It also wasn't the cleanest room, with stray hairs on the floor of the bathroom. lovely! Also, it is worth noting that unlike other hotels in the area, this one didn't appear to have any views to speak of.
