Almina Hotel - Special Class - Istanbul

Very clean, exceptional beds and excellent buffet breakfast: food was always fresh and tasty!! staff was very helpful. thanks

The room was smaller than the pictures indicated. The cleaning was hit & miss and we stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. The manager was enthusiastic on our arrival and became unfriendly ( we presume as we did not book his recommended tours)as our stay progressed. We remained cheerful & polite. All other staff were appropriate. We understood from the information that we could use the 'spa' area as part of our booking but this was not the case and the cost was high. The breakfast buffet was good.We were charged 30 euros for airport transfer but information stated that for 3 nights and over if would be free. We were only charged 10E for an independent taxi shuttle on return. We would not recommend the Almina to friends.

The hotel as well as the rooms are new and clean and the staff friendly. the roof terrace offers an excellent view over sultanahmet mosque, the sea and part of the asian side of the city. the facilities exist, but even though promised free of charge (sauna, steam bath) in the most recent hotel leaflets, there is a fee of at least eur 20.- to use them! the location is exactly as shown on the map, about 10 minutes walk to sultanahmet tram stop, but if you check the map carefully, you see the railway tracks right beside the hotel's south side - it is really close and some trains noisy, but after about 11.30pm they stop running. anyway: worth the money.

Very nice hotel, situated in a very "interesting" place in Istanbul (away from the bustle, but just next to the historic-touristic center). Warning for people sensitive to noise: the neighborhood is quiet, but the train passes a few meters (though line with little traffic and closed at night). Super terrace! I found, however, expensive (the hotel has weak pretension: simple service, food or beverage), But it's the Istanbul catch-tourist!
