highly recommend this boutique hotel not just for the convenient location and sweeping Bosphorous views but all for the amazing service and hospitality. I highly recommend staying her for easy access to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar. Great restaurants within easy walking distance. Ideal for single travelers or families.

An excelent small hotel, very nice and clean. The hotel staff (owner Mr. Doan) is the better that I have seen (and we are traveller experts...). Very good location close to the principal turistic atractions in istambul. The hotel is very romantic.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay with Doğan and Eve our host at Hotel ADA. The room was spacious with a magnificent view of the Marmara Sea and the countless ships tethered at anchor there waiting to enter the Bosphorus. We opted for the double room with Jacuzi and sea view. The hotel is new, less than 3 years old, and sits in the heart of the Sultanahmet district less than 4 blocks from the Blue Mosque and AyaSofia museam. The view from the roof top breakfast area is magnificent. The breakfast offerred a wide array of options and more food than one needs even to fuel a day of site seeing in the old city. We will make this our retreat in Istanbul for all future visits....and we do go often. Oh yeah, and did I mention the Jacuzi tub located in the bedroom adjacent to the window so one could soak, relax, and take in the blinking lights of ships in the harbor? ahhh and plenty of hot water.

Very well located, at 5 minutes walk from most of the importan places to visit at Sultanahmet. The street is not really nice, but it is very safe as all the area arround. We were upgraded for the first to days to a bigger room with sea view -great!!!. Our other room was ok, only it could be a little more spacious. Both were extremely clean and very quiet - except in the first one, front side, where you can hear the calling for the prayer as everywhere all over Istanbul. There was complimentary coffe and tea at the rooms. Breakfast was excellent: delicious and with plenty of choices, and served in a nice terrace overlooging the Marmara Sea. Anyway, the best point was the owner/manager of the hotel: couldn't be more friendly and helpful; makes you feel at home.

An excellent small hotel. Very close to the main sights in the best part of Istanbul. Beautiful views from rooms. Well equipped and maintained rooms with unlimited tea making facilities and a good buffet breakfast. What really sets it apart is the friendly and courteous personal attention from the proprietors. If we return to Istanbul we will definitely stay there again.

Undoubtedly the best hotel of the 9 we have stayed in throughout Europe over the past 2 months. Some at a much higher cost. Well designed, immaculate little hotel. Great breakfast overlooking Istanbul. The biggest factor however was the very gracious and knowledgable host and his team. They are more than happy to assist and advise while they are not at all intrusive.

Excellent hotel. Very well situated on a hill overlooking the Bosphorus (breakfast on the roof is superb), in a quiet part of Sultanahmet, yet only a short walk to the Blue mosque, tram stop and a good selection of restaurants. The hotel seems very quiet, apart from the call to prayer at five in the morning! Not their fault, I'm sure you can hear it all over the city. Everything worked and you felt like a guest in a family run house (you have to ring the bell to get in). Not particularly cheap, but given all the plus points (location, quality, comfy beds, etc), I was happy to pay. Well worth booking the airport transfer for when you arrive (might be hard to find), but also easy to get the tram/metro back.

Great location close to everything.Excellent if you like to see the sights as Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace etc. ADA Hotel is charming, full of character, very friendly family owned hotel. We felt like home. Very good breakfast, though the breakfast room was very small. it would have been nice to sit on the balcony for breakfast but the weather was a bit too cold for that. The lift was very small, too. Now the hotel probably was not fully booked, and everything worked very smoothly. I wonder how it will be when the hotel is fully booked. The hotel owner and his wife were very friendly and polite. They even arranged a taxi for us to the airport, which was very helpful as we left at the same time as Barack Obama arrived Istanbul - it would have been difficult without their help. We enjoyed staying in Sultanahmet, it was beautiful and quiet and much more enjoyable than the newer parts of Istanbul.

The Ada is on a very quiet street parallel to the Hippodrome. Taxis do not know where it is so we suggest you accept the hotel's (cheaper!) offer to be picked up at the airport by a taxi that works with them. It is a great location and Don was extremely accomodating.

My wife and I stayed for four nights during February in this new building, located in a traditional and quiet location but at walking distance of all main historic attractions in Sultanahmet. We were upgraded to a room with a very nice view to the Sea of Marmara and with a hydro-massage bath tub. The place is very well organized; the owner is always there for whatever you need. Breakfast makes you start the day very well: always good fresh coffee, French toasts, rose jam and a pleasent view from the top floor are among the highlights. Strongly recommended.

Very nice, clean, friendly 'boutique' hotel that couldn't get any closer to the Blue mosque & main sites (though you may not appreciate the 7am call to prayer, I doubt if you could find any hotel in the area that doesn't hav ethe same problem!) The only possible problem I can see is that it is a little like staying in someone's (very nice)home. I wasn't offered a front door key and think I would have felt a little uncomfortable rolliong in at 4am after a night of the town. So other than for lads nights out, I recommend the hotel and would saty again if one my own.

We booked a room with sea view & jacuzzi and we had exactly this type of room. Views from our room & breakfast area were wonderful The room was confortable, clean and spacious. You can hear the muezzin in the morning but it is the same everywhere in Istanbul (lot of mosquees). The hotel surroundings are good, we were at less than 2 min walking from the blue mosquee & aya sophia and 2 min from the tramway.the breakfast is ok fruits, cereales, bread with eggs, cheese... but no fresh juice.

I was really impressed by the Ada Hotel and its hospitable staff. We were looking for a comfortable and relaxing time in Instabul, close to the sights, and the Ada really delivered this. I also have to say that the condition of the rooms and the proximity to things was better than I was able to gather from the web site. It's right in the middle of the historic Sultanahmet district, where many of the famous landmarks are, and the surrounding neighbourhood is charming. I was also impressed that we had a gorgeous sea view. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone looking to enjoy Istanbul and all it's amazing sights.

Very poor reception, we were made to sit there for 45mn before checking in as the lady at the desk did not want to check us in and wanted to wait for the owner to return Once the owner returned, he could not find our name and we had to look through records for a while before he realised that he had registered us under 'venere' Owner tried to 'downgrade' us as well by taking us to the cheapest smallest room available; we had to talk him into 'verifying' whether a larger room more akin to the description / picutre on the site was available Overall, poor value for money

The owners made us feel very welcome. The hotel location is excellent for visiting the main attractions as it is less than 10 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque. The hotel only provides breakfast in the roof top dining area, which has very nice views, however there are several alternative food outlets within short walking distance. We stayed four days and wish it could have been longer.

The things that attracted me to this hotel were the breakfast terrace and the location. Both lived up to their claims. The breakfast terrace became our sunset drinks area as well! The location ensured we could walk to a lot of areas including the tram stop which allowed us to widen our area of exploration. I also have to thank the very friendly staff for their hospitality and their travel tips..invaluable.

The hotel was directly acroos the street from a mosque. Every morning we were awakened by the muslim call to prayer at 5:30 a.m. The noise was very loud and lasted 5-10 minutes. Quite a disappointing daily routine while on vacation. I stayed at a different hotel a few days later and heard nothing.

Hotel Ada is an excellent choice - its not the Ritz, but excellent reasonably priced choice for anyone - families, professionals, anyone. Its quiet, very clean, excellent location, most helpful staff, no problems whatsoever. Retired Professor Dogan a gentleman, was very helpful for our friend's (not a guest) problem with another hotel. Location is 2 mins to Hippodrome, 3 mins to Blue Mosque, 10 mins to Grand Bazaar. Upper stories and terrace beautiful view of Sea of Marmara. Very good breakfast.

I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful throughout our stay, much more so than the usual run-of-the-mill hotel. Although there was no lobby to speak of or bar, the room was so airy and relaxing that it was no hardship to spend time in it. Breakfast was of a high quality with a wide variety of food on offer and was served on a pleasant roof terrace with gorgeous sea views. There was no problem with guests spending time there during the day as well. The hotel's location is excellent as it is very near the main sights and in easy walking distance of the train station. We're planning to return to Turkey and would definitely stay at Hotel Ada again.

Really lovely hotel--we paid for a larger room and felt it was worth it. Breakfast on the roof terrace was excellent. Good location (a bit hard to find at first--you have to look for the little sign out on the street), only minor downside was some construction nearby that could be heard during the day, but otherwise couldn't be faulted. It's very close to the former church of Sergius & Bacchus, 6th-century miniature version of Hagia Sophia. Very friendly and helpful owner.

The Ada felt like a home away from home. Very pleasant accomodations, easy access to sites, good breakfast, and gracious owners/staff. When we were first walking the neighborhood in search of the hotel, we were a little dismayed by the surrounding area. But after finding our way, we were able to locate a route that did not take us through the less desirable streets. It turned out that the area is not "bad" simply old. Once we realized this, it made all the difference with respect to our comfort level. I would highly recommend the Ada and would likely stay there again.
