The best things about this hotel: view, free parking, hotel next door, drinks on the deck. The worst things: not enough space on the deck for a large group of people, non-english speaking staff at breakfast, breakfast became boring after a few days. This hotel has great views but is a little isolated. You must have a lake view room as there is a railway directly behind the hotel and people staying at the back complained about the noise. Hotel is clean and staff are competent, the room is clean with a modern bathroom.

At days where a big group (bus) had breakfast, main components, like bread!! were not available afterwards anymore and could not be delivered!!! Service personal was very friendly but could not solve the problem for two days. We stayed there already 3 times, location is nice, service as mentioned above not sufficient for a 4 star hotel!

I thought I had requested a balcony but did not receive this upon arrival. The Air conditioning kept shutting down and I had to request it be turned bak on. I bit of a bore to have to do repeatedly. Would have appreciated an area of garden for my dog to walk. There was only a scruffy weedy and rubbish dump area next to the hotel. Not great. This was the poorest aspect of the hotel. It was a stunning location!!!!

Just back from Lake Iseo, a group of 60 of us made the trip for my friends wedding. Picturesque location for a hotel, beautiful, beautiful area, nice Hotel, not 4* though. Booked a deluxe double room with a balcony—just about got what we booked, as we checked in first, got a dismal welcoming from a Basil Faulty lookalike. Got a very small room, but sufficient. Beds were made & towels changed every day bar 1, mini fridge not restocked whole week though. Service in general was very, very poor. If you missed breakfast and wanted food, the person on reception would have to go back into bar area to service you—and on many occasions we could only get coffee. If you want to eat a night in the main restaurant—you need a reservation—Yes, even if you pay over 900e to stay there, tried twice on two occasions one night to no avail, staff very unfriendly, even the boss, look after the locals better who frequented the restaurant at night with their expensive cars. Luckily, were young...so we could walk to 2 restaurants around the corner, not always open though, two Grand parents in our group were left with no food on day of check out from 11am to 6pm. There is no local shop or pharmacies open around—so bring essentials. Iseo main town is a 40 min walk, taxi is 20e return. Fab restaurants in main town, beautiful area, not a lot to do though. In general, gorgeous place, wedding was fantastic, but service & location (railway line in front of hotel, busier during week) of hotel are very, very poor—pity—but Lake Iseo in general, is still worth a visit!

We had a wonderful stay at Araba Fenice! (The hotel is NOT located in Iseo, as said in the Venere site, but 3 km north. Local train/bus stops 300 m away.) Service is very friendly and professional, the view magnificent, rooms beautiful and comfortable etc etc. Perfect for a jubilee as ours - 14 years of love!

Very good value for money. Superb location on the lake. Probably car is essential for getting into Iseo or to nearest ferry stop. On site restaurant was excellent. Would definitely return. Make sure you get a lakeside room as rooms at the back of the hotel overlook the railway line instead. No contest.

We have been to Iseo the first time. The town is lovely. The Hotel Araba Fenice is a good location. Especially the rooms with lake view and balcony are the most wonderful of the house and very quiet. We can recommend the hotel.

Hotel Araba fenice was what we wanted, a peaceful lakeside location. It is however much farther from the town of Iseo than we had expected - it's really in Pilzone. We walked a lot, partly along a busy road with no footpath, and also had to cross a railway line through a gap in the fence to avoid even more traffic. A taxi-ride back to Hotel Araba Fenice after supper in Iseo costs 10 euro, this should be taken into consideration when assessing value. The hotel itself was welcoming, atmospheric and tranquil. We were lucky enough to have a room with balcony on the lake side, it might not be so tranquil if you end up facing the railway track. Staff were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly at all times. Breakfast was OK - I don't think that tinned fruit is an acceptable substitute for fresh, but the coffee was excellent. We were there in the off season, so there was no night life to speak of, I expect its a lot livelier in high season. The pool was not yet open, but even if it were I would not consider it worth using - about the size of a large dining table. In summary, a scenic destination for a relaxing break, but bring your walking shoes.

We were not able to eat in the hotel restaurant on the night we stayed as they said they were full so had to go into Iseo (a good 10 min drive away iwth difficult to find parking which meant no prospect of wine with dinner) where all the decent restaurants were also fully booked and had long queues outside so ended up having to buy a snack meal in a cafe which was not what we were seeking at all. Basically it seems that when you book this hotel you need to book a table for dinner also - I would have thought that hotels of this class would accommodate their guests for dinner by default! This spoiled what would otherwise have been a very pleasant stay

The location of this hotel right next to the lake was beautiful, however it was not the peaceful dream we had hoped as equally as close is the railway line and the main road along the lakeside. Therefore, it was rather noisy beside the pool. The staff were competent although not overly helpful. When we asked about the possibility of moving to a room with a balcony we were repeatedly told to come back and ask again tomorrow. We were staying a week but felt there was no recognition of that. Disappointing also that we found it virtually impossible to get a table in the restaurant. We therefore only ate there one night out of 7. The room however, was very clean with a comfortable large bed. The air conditioning unit was effective although rather noisy. At time this was turned off and we had to request several times for it to be turned back on again. Iseo is a wonderful lake to visit and the Araba Fenice helped to make this an enjoyable holiday.

It was a lovely touch when the staff arranged a bottle of wine on my birthday. The hotel's situation was beautiful, and I would recommend a balcony room to fully enjoy the lake. The bed was not the most comfortable I've ever slept in, but for me that was overcome by the beautiful position.
