Hotel Sant'Angelo - Ischia

(segue traduzione in italiano) Hotel location is awesome.. Employees (which are also the owners) are nice, gentle and competent. They gave us a lot of wonderful suggestions (restaurants, beaches, spa centers...). Please, trust their suggestions and have the breakfast in the wonderful porch of the hotel, just in front of the sea! Last but not least: the hotel has an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool!Absolutely recommended! La posizione dell'hotel e' fantastica. Gli impegati (che sono anche i padroni) sono gentili, simpatici e molto preparati. Ci hanno dato molti suggerimenti su ristoranti, parchi termali e spiaggie. Seguite i loro consigli e prendete la colazione nella terrazza dell'hotel con vista sul mare! Infine: l'hotel ha due piscine: una esterna e una intera. Assolutamente consigliato!

My third visit to Hotel Sant'Angelo, and i am very happy to return there. The room, though not very large, had a terrace, and tho the air conditioning was not great, the terrace allowed us to open the doors to the fresh air, and it was very pleasant. The hotel management is exceptional, one of the main reasons I return there. The heated pool was accessible even at night, whereas i have stayed in other hotels on Ischia where the pool was closed at 7:30 pm, which was a disappointment and lowered my estimation of those hotels. Hotel sant'angelo continues to be my hotel of choice in Ischia, I will return there next year. I ate well at a little pizzeria in Panza recommended by the hotel, and very reasonably.

Many rooms are without windows. The hotel is located close to a very busy road. (not evident in the photo location of the hotel) For the first time in my holidays my credit card was partially charged by a hotel owner at the beginning of the vacation (big hospitality!!). In addition I had to pay apart the availability of conditioned air (!)

I wish I could have stayed in this place forever. The hotel is very nice, the owner Peppe is the best. He treated us as his personal guests. We booked a room that on arrival he upgraded to a much better room. The heated pool of mineral water was a paradise on earth. Peppe gave us a lot of helpful suggestions on what to see and where to eat. We cannot wait for the next time when we may come back and stay in this place. Thank you, Peppe, for the wonderful time.

We were very pleased with the Hotel Sant'Angelo in Ischia. It is out of the way but has a bus stop (the best way to get around the island) right at the front door. We received first-class service from Giuseppe and would readily return. The room was spacious and the hotel in generally good overall condition, even though it was the off-season.

Very good location to stay in Ischia... Walking distance from the port and on bus rout to tour the island. Guiseppe is the best host! Opt to stay in the hotel rooms, rather than the bedsit which we found a bit small

As we walked up the street to the accomodation, we were welcomed by Peppi from across the road,made a cup of coffee and shown all the local attractions andpreferred resturants (with dicounts where applicable). This was typical of the stay- just fantastic. The accomodation was good- the front rooms get road noise at night and the refrigerator was not good. But the thermal pool area and deck with a great view is so relaxing. Breakfasts excellent and the outlook from the dining room great. We will return!!

July 2005 Because of the topography of the island it was a little bit of a trek to get from the ferry to the hotel (45mins by taxi:40 Euro. Bus 1hr:6 Euro(4 people)). However, it was worth the journey as the hotel is situated in a beautiful and quiet area with excellent views and is 5 mins walk down a steep path to a small and quiet beach (great for lazing around!). Not all rooms face the sea, however -some are to the rear, but even if you are not allocated a "room with a view" - there's always the sun terrace (see hotel website for description). The main Sant-Angelo Beach is a pleasant 10-15 mins walk down the main road outside the hotel- good chance to catch up on your shopping on the way back! The beach/harbour has canoes/boats pedalos etc. for hire and there are also lots of lovely good quality restaurants dotted around. The owners of the hotel (Pepe and Angela)were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful - (my advice - don't book anything without speaking to Pepe first, he'll try and get you a good deal!) The swimming pool was relatively small but lovely and warm and not too busy for a good part of the day - great also for an evening dip! We'd come back in an instant if we could. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday! Grazie!

We were late arriving but received a very friendly welcome from Pepe. because we had not eaten he arranged for a pizza delivery from a nearby pizza shop and also fixed us his own delicious bruschetta. his information on the nearby Appollon Terme was helpful as was the discount voucher. we took up this offer next day and had a wonderful day in a beautiful hot springs water garden. although this hotel was a 45 minute bus trip from the port of Ischia, the trip was worth it for the beautiful and peaceful setting. it was a fairly strenuous walk down to the village of Sant Angelo (no buses)in the heat but we managed it several times. Buses to the rest of the island ran frequently. the thermal pool on the roof at Sant Angelo was an added bonus .. especially those midnight swims!! only disappointment was that our room didn't have a view, but this was probably related to the tarriff we paid. all the staff were friendly and helpful. we would reccomend this hotel to our friends.

Wonderful!! Beautiful!! Only wish we had had info about the bus system before we paid for a taxi.
