Bären - The Bear Inn - Wilderswil, Interlaken

Superior double room turns out to be poky attic room up 6 flights of stairs (No lift). Double room also had twin beds. Very inferior standard of cooking. Staff pleasant but did nothing to change things when I complained. Organisation of National Day Barbecue celebrations (Aug 1st) was shambolic

Fabulous Hotel and Excellent polite staff

We stayed six nights at The Bear Inn end of August. We remained very satisfied with our choice. Ideal starting point for wandering in the Jungfrau region: central position and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the train station. Breakfasts were moderate but dishes in the hotel's restaurant were delicious for the dinners.

Good Hotel quite area. short distance to train station to go the mountain and in other places.

Noisy room over a street corner. Couldn't be moved to another as being the off season many of the rooms were shut down. No lift so heavy cases need to be taken up several flights of stairs.

There were 3 of us so we got a triple room (a spacious room with 3 twin beds). Bathroom was a bit outdated, but simple and clean. A friendly gentleman checked us in upon arrival. I think he was the big boss. We really like the hotel location. It was conveniently located within walking distance to the Wilderwil train station, and a quick bus ride from the Interlaken West train stop. We went to Jungfraujoch and got the train from the Wilderwil station (a 7-min walk from the hotel).

Excellent hotel ideally located just a short walk to the railway station. Rooms excellent and warm. Restaurant very good indeed although you may need to book as it gets very busy on any day of the week. Would certainly stay here again if we had a holiday in the area again. And when the sky is clear, the views of the mountains are great. One to recommend.
