Carlton-Europe Hotel - Interlaken

The room was spacious, but the bathroom was extremely small and had an odour. Toiletry supplies non existent other than a standard bath gel. Breakfast was satisfactory. Staff could have been more helpful. Hotel is wekll located within a 5 minute walk from Interlaken Est train station and a reasonable walking distance from a selection of restaurants.

Pros: 1. Best place to start for excursions (very near to Interlaken Ost). 2. Good variety in breakfast (It tends to be similar in all the Hotels in Switzerland now. I stayed in three hotels in Interlaken, Zurich and Lucerne, all had similar breakfast menu). 3. Spacious and ventilated rooms. 4. Indian restaurant within the Hotel. Cons: 1. Some items in breakfast tend to fly of the shelf very soon (make sure to reach the breakfast room till 9 AM). 2. You have to ask for services such as coffee and tea are included in your room rent or not (You dont get refills for sugar and coffee in your room unless you ask for them). 3. Internet access is tooooo costly as compared to other Hotels. We statyed in Interlaken for two nights. Interlaken is a small town with beautiful surroundigs. It is a must place to visit if you are going for an excursion to Jungfroujch. Jungfroujch is a MUST VISIT if you are on a tour of Switzerland. It is called the Top of the Europe and is true in every sense. Make sure to visit the observation deck and enjoy the 360 degree view of swiss Alps. Carlton-Europe hotel is an excellent place to stay. It is very near to Interlaken Ost station (there is Interlaken west station as well). It is the best place to start for all excursions near Interlaken because all trains leave from Interlaken Ost station. We enjoyed our stay in the Hotel. Please go for an early breakfast or some of the things might be finished when you reach the breakfast table. My wife specially liked the old wooden house ambience of the Hotel and the Piano kept near the lift lobby.

Excellent location - walking distance from train. Stayed in a luxury double room with spa bath which was nice but would have preferred bathroom behind wall rather than be part of the whole room. Staff were terrific, restaurant was fine, though smoking in restaurants not really acceptable without proper exhaust. Would recommend this hotel.

Hmm..the first impression dis hotel gave me s reali bad cuz we booked 2 double rooms online and when we went 2 da hotel n da staff told us dat what they can onli offer us s one double and one twin room, but we ordered 2 double and da staff s not very nice to us and just said "u ll take it or not" without any appologize, is dat our fault??? let us go n without any other booking in da dark night??reali made us unhappy.. however, after 30min thing then they changed 2 double room for us..but is it rediculus dat u hotel hvn't got 2 doouble rooms n suddenly u got?? whatever, after dat is gud, da location,breakfast,cleaness...etc

We loved our room at the Carlton Europe. It was beautiful and very spacious. There was a wslcoming basket with fresh fruit waiting for us. The staff was very helpful and recommended a good restaurant.

Rooms are run down and need redecorating as are some public areas. This may already be in hand as there were some workmen about. Overall this stay was disapointing after staying in the Carlton some years ago.

The hotel was being renovated when we were there, so there was an incomplete feel about the lobby.However this did not prevent the reception staff from providing an excellent service. Great location and a pleasure to stay in. We will return if passing that way again.
