Cold and unfriendly welcome. We did not received any advise about the shortest way from parking lot to the hotel and we had to carry our luggage a long way at a temp of 30 degrees. Street was in works. Room we were given was terrible. It was in the 1st floor: dark, with such an old furniture that I could not imagine it could be used in a hotel. Windows could not be opened because there was a humid backyard there and the smell was not the most agreable. We could not change room until the 3rd night of our 4-night-stay!

Overall a good stay. Excellent location. we were 3 in a room with plenty of space. Recently renovated washroom with excellent layout.Room would benefit from ceiling fan and carpet was stained. These two items were not enough to spoil an overall pleasant stay.Staff were friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

The taxi driver, at the station had never heard of the hotel and it wasn't listed on his hotel list. He had to enquire in another nearby hotel for directions and even these weren't that clear. After he had dropped us off where he thought it would be we did eventually find it. The meal in the hotel restaurant was one of the worst we have ever had. There was only one waitress doing the job of barmaid, waitress and cashier. She was just wonderful but shouldn't have had all that work to do by herself especially when the restaurant was quite busy. The food we ordered was very 'greasy' and not what we expected from the discription in the menu. When we pointed this out we weren't offered another choice or even a small discount. We would definitely not eat in this restaurant again. No 'early' breakfast was avaiable when we said we would have to leave by 6.45 am to catch our train and we had to hurriedly eat it in the 15 minutes after the dinning room opened at 6.30. The TV was very difficult to operate. The receptionist on duty when we arrived was very helpful and inspite of the problems we had with food, found the hotel to be very central and not too far from the railway station. Many hotels we have stayed in, booked through you have not had adequate lighting and enough pillows so that you can sit up in bed and read or watch TV. My name is Gail Mullon from the Czech Republic and New Zealand.

An old hotel that could do with a bit of a re-furbishment. The place is clean and spacious and superbly located - you can see the famous golden roof from the front door - but it needs a bit of inspiration. It falls between the stools of antique charm and run-down tattiness. Still - not bad value for such a superb city-centre location.

in fact a quiet nice hotel, with very friendly employees. At night, some guys on the street are very loud. But for that, you are directly in the center of the city. Rooms are big enough, some have also a big sofa in it. The only thing which disappointed me is the small breakfast and that the shower gel wasnt refilled.

This was a total rip off. I accept it was during the Euro 2008 tournament, but €300 a room per night is simply outrageous. The Breinossl needs a facelift. The sofa in our room was worn to the foam. The beds uncomfortable. The reception and staircase smelled of fried food. How can you charge €300 per night for somewhere that smells like a deep fat fryer? The food (and coffee) on offer was pretty poor. I am a travel journalist and this is the worst hotel I've stayed in for many a years (Genoa in 2004 was the last time I stayeD somewhere worse). Also, the water in the shower rarely rose above lukewarm. Location-wise, it was faultless. Overall impression? Simply appalling. Still, I loved Innsbruck.

This is a superb establishmnet right in the heart of the city. We could not fault this in any way, and particularly were impressed with the way they were happy to fit us into the crowded reataurant on Christmas Eve (after an exciting day when we had to be rescued from the mountain - telepherique breakdown - and arrived back quite late.

Our brief stay in beautiful Innsbruck was enhanced by this great hotel. The people were very friendly and helpful, the location perfect and the rooms spacious and comfortable, with a terrific view out onto Maria-Theresien-Strasse. Lots of nice restaruants and bars nearby. Recommend highly!

The entrance to the hotel was a bit tricky, as you had to walk through the Weinerwald Restaurant to get to the reception desk, or walk down an unmarked driveway. This hotel was on the main strip- street noise was not bad, but it seemed the walls for the rooms were extremely thin as it felt like we could hear everyone in their own rooms. The noise pollution was pretty bad as folks would open the windo opening onto the airshaft and we could hear people talking loudly in their rooms. Aside from that, the room didn't have a mini-refrigerator or a safe, both of which we used throughout our entire two weeks in other hotels. All the rooms we stayed at in Europe had one. The large bathroom only had a single dingy flourescent light which didn't reach the shower so you bathed in near darkness. We also didn't have any cooling system so when the room got hot all we could do was leave the window open and listen to the other patrons talking- not good. Breakfast was decent- the actually offered whole fresh fruit which was a small blessing. Overall, if you are a heavy sleeper and don't mind lots of ambient noise in trade for a place that's close to shops and restaurants, this place is good for you. I prefer a quieter place to rest my head at the end of the day.

The smell of dripping from the chicken grill on the first floor came to the room rather strongly in the evening. That was certainly unpleasant, although tolerable, since we did not make a complaint. Otherwise we were very pleased with the service and facilities. Especially the location was great!

The name on the outside of the hotel threw us. They have the restaurant name prominently displayed (wienerwald) and it ws much harder to see the Touritel sign. I don't know if Breinossel even displayed. The lobby and restaurant area are updated, so they look nicer than the actual rooms, which are old but clean. A good breakfast buffet was provided. The hotel is in the heart of the old city, and near shopping, pharmacies, etc. There was some street noise at night, but not unbearably so. Innsbruck sits in a beautiful location. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget.

Very poor room quality. Very small room. People at reception was not friendly. They gave us a double room but we have reserved a triple. We had to claim at recemption to be able to have room as reserved. We had to help waitress in placing new bed moving part of forniture after more than 2 hours we asked a new room. The third bed was very bad and unconfortable. The whole hotel had bad smell.

Very nice room, as advertised. Fantastic location! In the middle of everything, plus you must have the “Family Platter” dish from Weinerwald downstairs! The only problem with this hotel, was that we could hear the noise from all the drunk kids bar hopping throughout the night.

The rooms were very congested and suffocating. The price and quality haveno match at all. The location is excellent and all the tourist attrations are at walking distance. Street atmosphere is lively and the hotel has got an excellent restraunt. Breakfast was good too. It's a good fall back option but would try other hotels next time..

The receptionist when checking in and checking out was absolutely rude! She was not friendly at all, not accomodating in attempting to get directions (didn't even appear to want to help), and was the same when there was an error in the date of check-out. The pedestrian walkway the hotel was situated on and to which our window opened up to was under construction. They worked until late at night and started early in the morning. Good to complete quickly, but bad in order to attempt to enjoy the room and hotel. I guess there was no way to inform us of this, but it was definitely a surprise and we would have selected another location if we knew.

Hotel was ideally located except for the fact that you cannot park in front of the hotel (road is restricted to pedestrian access only). The rooms were clean and spacious and the staff were very helpful. We would have liked to have stayed another night but the hotel was fully booked. The staff in reception did however locate another hotel of similar quality & price that had a room available for us. Overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel is very near the train station. However we took a taxi and it costs us 5 Euros. The rooms were gloomy but large and clean. One of the rooms we stayed had a window which faces an airwell filled with forlorn-looking plastic plants. The room smelled dank and damp on entering but the air improves after the window was opened. Breakfast spread was good. We came in summer and it was hot. We asked for fans and only 1 room got it. The hotel is situated in the town centre surrounded by many shops. Ideal for those who like shopping.

Excellent place to stay in Innsbruck! In the very center, walking distance to everything. Accommodations were reasonable, the staff, especially Katryn, was especially helpful, never tired to answering questions or providing us with information on skiing, sightseeing, best places to eat, etc. There is a garage (paid for separately) behind the hotel (14Euros per 24 hours), you cannot drive directly in front of the hotel, but the distance from the parking garage to the hotel is less than 100 meters or 300 feet. Overall, great value for the money!

I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a hotel that is clean, and in the heart of Innsbruck. Great resturant in the hotel also Clean, neat rooms, with ample closet space.

Tourotel Breinossl is the European version of a Howard Johnson Hotel in the states. The room was very spacious and very clean except for a very large disconcerting brown stain on the carpet. Our windows opened into an air shaft which acted as an amplifier for any noise/conversation coming from any other room that had windows opening into it. We slept with earplugs in and we were still kept up by the noise. In addition, the walls were poorly insulated which didn't help. If you are not a smoker, please be forwarned that guests can and do smoke in the rooms...and boy do they smoke! Our room didn't smell of smoke, but we actually were awakened early in the morning to the very strong smell of cigarette smoke coming from other rooms. The upside...the staff is friendly and extremely helpful and accomodating and the breakfast buffet is expansive and delicious. The hotel is located on the main street of Innsbruck and everything is in walking distance which is a great convenience. I don't think we would stay at this hotel again just because of the noise and the smoke. It is possible that our stay would have been better had we been in a different room, but we'll try a smaller hotel next time.
