La amabilidad del personal. La limpieza de la habitación/baño. Y la localización del hotel al lado de Tejadillo de oro. Más céntrico imposible.Hotel con encanto y con historia. Mejor pedir habitación con balcón.

Terrific historic hotel with modern conveniences in the center of the historic pedestrian area of the city. The gold roof was 80 yards away! Parked the car in a garage outside the pedestrian precinct and walked in, just as advertised - it takes a few minutes with luggage but it's not a hard walk. Breakfast was good and the room was nice. Only drawback was the lack of A/C. It was warm and muggy while we were there - 28-30 C during the day. Our room faced the street - it was stifling at night with window closed but unbearably noisy with the windows open. The narrow streets in the old town funnel the noise of the restaurants up - when they finally closed there was only a couple of hours before the street cleaners, and then the delivery vehicles. Had a terrible night's sleep. A fan in the room would have mad a world of difference.

Stayed here a few years ago and the hotel is little changed. This is an excellent atmospheric hotel in the historic part of town. Rooms can be on the small side but have everything you need and are comfortable ,clean and tidy. Worth staying here for the breakfast alone. Look out for the tiny delicatessen a few streets away, from the hotel entrance turn right, then right again , right again and smell - its amazing. Handy for the Airport (10 Euro taxi ride takes 10-15 min). For lunch/evening meals head for the new market area by the river where the resturants serve good value meals to the locals. Finding the Hotel from the station is not easy and although buses and trams are plentiful getting on the right one is a matter of luck as the route map is indecipherable. 5 minute Taxi ride from station cost 6 Euro and was a good investment.

Very good central location and very helpful management. Good quality room at a reasonable price. You do have to carry your bags a couple of blocks from the car park, as we had been advised in advance because the hotel is in the pedestrian area, so best to use wheeled luggage.

We LOVED this place. It was immaculate, Great staff, Incredible breakfast. Only flaw was very loud all-night drunk partiers on the street on Friday night. Had to have window open for air. Lots of racket bouncing off the ancient walls. (Sleepless night for most customers) Other than that our stay was perfect.

I found the staff not very friendly or helpful, but the room was clean and comfortable, however quite small. There was quite a bit of noise on the front side of the building because it faces a main pedestrian street. I couldn't have a single room on the back side of the building. The breakfast was good and the location was convenient to many of the attractions. Have to pay to use the computer in the lobby which was a surprise because most of the hotels in which I stayed provided a free computer in the lobby.

I had a single room at the Weisses-Kreuz, and I was extremely pleased with everything. It was a great surprise to find that my expectations were surpassed. The location was perfect, the hotel staff were very friendly, and I could not have asked for more.

We (a mature couple) stayed in Weisses Kreuz for a couple of days in January and absolutely loved every aspect of the hotel: location, welcoming and warm reception, decoration, bedding (it is really soft and special), breakfast, cleanliness, and the price. To the best of our knowledge the hotel is now family-owned and we got the exceptional service from the staff - they went beyond themselves in meeting all our requests. Will certainly recommend the hotel to all the travellers and will gladly return to this hotel if we happen to be in Innsbruck again.

This hotel has been taking in guests since the 1400s, and it was already old when Mozart stayed there. It is smack in the middle of the Old Town pedestrian district, yet within easy walking distance of a garage where it maintains a space for guests; let the hotel know you will be bringing a car, and they both reserve the space and send a map so you know how to get there. We really enjoyed our stay and have absolutely no complaints except that the reception area is undergoing remodeling. It was never noisy, however. The rooms were comfortable, the halls were wide and nicely decorated, the breakfast was ample, and the employees were courteous. What more could one ask?

The hotel location was perfect and the bed was one of the few comfortable beds I slept in during a lengthy holiday in Europe. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I am a single traveller and the room that I stayed in was quite roomy. However, I did pay extra for a double room because the single rooms are very small.

Excellent breakfast. ONLY negative was rowdiness and noise of late-night pedestrians outside the hotel. In colder months, with windows closed, this likely would not be a factor.

As a tourist, the location couldn't be more perfect, right in the heart of Innsbruck's old city, down the street from the Golden Roof. Hotel reception was very friendly, and accommodated our late arrival and some special requests. However, it appeared to be part hostel, part hotel, which we had not expected from the description, but didn't actually affect the room . The room was large wtih closets, yet the bathroom only had a small shower and toilet crammed in. Breakfast was pretty good, and was included. If you had a car, you may want to consider another hotel. Cars can only enter the street 6am-10am, and hotel parking is a 5-7 minute walk away. Also, internet was very expensive, we ended up using it at a nearby shop.

Weisses Kreuz offers good value for money in the centre of the Old Town of Innsbruck. This is a traffic free area. There is a good standard of breakfast provided. There are no evening meal service but a good choice of places to eat in the local streets. Hotel is within walking distance of bus stops and the station.

Room ws OK; heating didn't work the first night but an electric heater was provided when asked for. TV was very small (if you need to use it). Access by car to the hotel is not allowed between 10:00 AM and sometime in the evenings (pedestrian only zone), so you have somehow to park elsewhere in the vicinity, get your room key, park the car at the parking area arranged by the hotel (5-10 min walking distance), then get your luggage and walk the 5-10 min distance to the hotel. SImilarly when you check-out (if it is between 10:00AM and the evening hours). This is a hassle, but who is not much bothered, everything else is good, specially the location.

A great hotel with a lot of character. Very central and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. A great value hotel which is in a great location amongst the attractions, museums, shops and restaurants, cafes. We went to the Kroll cafe, good coffee and strudels. We ate at the Ottoberg? which cooks local meals. As a vegetarian, I had one choice but it was really good, home-made ravioli while my partner enjoyed steak, potatoes and onion. The wine was expensive but you could buy it by the glass or just have a beer. It was our first time in Innsbruck and the hotel was near the local church. It was great to hear church bells. Breakfast was very good.

Great historic hotel, excellent location. We could go tour the city until very late at night without having to worry about catching the last shuttle back! Ony problem: the room hadn't been very efficiently cleaned. There was still some hair from the previous guests on the pillow covers as well as on the bathroom counter. Nothing dramatic I suppose.

We had no problems with noise from the pedestrianised street on which the hotel stands (we were given a room at the rear of the hotel without asking). The hotel is within comfortable walking distance of the railway station and is then easy to find. Breakfast was continental with boiled eggs (hot). Altogether a very enjoyable stay.
United Kingdom, Jun 2007
Rather nice little hotel with a very long history. The "white cross" is the Order of Saint John who provided medieval Crusaders with Accomodation and sustenance. It is located in the middle of what is left of the old part of Innesbruck which was heavily bombed due to the strategic value of its rail connections. First class breakfast in all respects with a large variety of food on offer, atmospheric old hotel, rooms excellent and considering the age of the building larger than expected. although the surroundings not in themselves noisy Innesbruck is located not far from its Airport and is directly under the flight path so when the infrequent flights do land you certainly know about it. Fortunately flights ceased at night. Innesbruck itself not a very interesting town but handy as a stopover if travelling by train. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station and trams and buses run to the end of the road.

A bit hard to find as it's on a pedestrian only street, but once you find it, you couldn't be in a better spot to enjoy Innsbruck. The parking garage is 3 blocks away, but that's no big deal. You can get the car in front of the hotel to drop off your bags.

Excellent place to stay in the centre of Innsbruck. Absolutely ideal situation. The only drawback was that the clock on the nearest church [Hofkirche] started to chime at 6am each day, which inevitably woke us up. The other churches joined in at 7am! Otherwise 100% recommendation. We would certainly go back.

We travelled there in September 2004 and until we found its actual location I didn't realise that we were staying the main street with the Gold Roof - it was a fantastic location! Innsbruck is a truely beautiful town and we had a lovely time there wandering the streets, parks and along the river. The Weisses Kreuz served a fantastic breakfast to get us on our way and their fluffy doona's (comforters if your aren't Australian) were fantastic to snuggle under at the end of a day of travel. If you can try and find the little shop tucked in a streets near the hotel which sells the most amazing decorated eggs that you will ever see - will try to get back there one day just to buy one and of course would stay at Weisses Kreuz once again.

This hotel is OLD (nearly 400 years) and quirky (I don't think that there is a square corner in the place) but in excellent condition in the heart of old Innsbruck. Parking (provided) was a little difficult to find. I wish that I had booked for several more days rather than other places we went
